Destination Wedding, Atlantis Bahamas

Alana, on October 26, 2018 at 12:24 PM Posted in Planning 0 3

Hello,

I will be getting married at the Atlantis hotel in the Bahamas on May 31 2019. Looking for advice from brides that have done this as well. The ceremony will be on Paradise beach and reception on cove beach including dinner buffet, dancing and DJ. Need advice on the following:

1. We are told that the ceremony cannot start until 6pm due to the conflict with the music at nearby pool. Dinner will start at 7:30. Rules are that all beach events need to be done by 10:30. I am concerned that I will be paying all of this money and will not have enough time for the reception?

2. The day before we want to do something fun for bachelor and bachelorette days? Any ideas?

3. We would like to host a welcome dinner for all 30 of our guests, but all of the restaurants at Atlantis are making us order of a "group menu" and the prices are ridiculous! We are not looking to spend more than $1000.

4. Any DJ reccomendations?

Thank you!!

    Hey Alana.

I’m not doing a DW but do you have a wedding coordinator?

Have you thought about doing an all inclusive resort?

Hi Alana! Welcome to WeddingWire! I'd love to help you with some of your concerns!

Having your reception from 7:30 to 10:30 is not too far off of the average reception time, which is typically four hours long! Is there anywhere else in the resort that you can plan to have a cocktail hour before or an after-party following to keep the fun going after your reception?

As for your bachelorette/bachelor parties, it looks like Atlantis has a casino, lots of fun bars, and endless excursion options! You could always rent a boat or go bar hopping on the island!

For your welcome party, resorts can be super pricey! It may be a good idea to look into local restaurants to host your dinner at instead! Many restaurants will have a private room that you can rent for the occasion! Maybe contact your hotel and see if they have any recommendations!

In terms of a good DJ, you can take a look at the WeddingWire Vendor Search for DJs in the Bahamas! While there aren't many, you may have some luck! You can also ask the wedding coordinator at your resort for DJ recommendations, as they will probably have a better idea!

I hope you find this helpful and I wish you the best of luck with your planning! Smiley kiss

    Hi Alana,

i found your post while searching for some information as we are looking to book our wedding at atlantis for November of 2020. With your wedding just days away, i was hoping when all is said and done, you could offer some advice and let me know what you ended up doing about your rehearsal dinner. I too thought their prices were ridiculous! Any feedback you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
