Hey! We're getting married in Cancun in August and wondered if anyone had been through the legal process please? I'm from the UK and my fiance is American. I've read different things online around the process so any advice from someone that's been through it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

I’ve had three sets of friends have destination weddings in Mexico, and all three said the process to ensure the marriage was legally recognized in the US was way too complicated and time-consuming. It required additional fees and extra travel around Mexico, which they didn’t feel was incredibly safe, and it also took up an entire day of their vacation. Two of the couples were legally married in the US prior to the destination wedding, and one couple made it legal a couple weeks after returning home.
