Destination Wedding Lodging for Bridal Party

Lauren, on July 22, 2020 at 7:05 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 6

Hey everybody!

My fiance and i got engaged in March and finally locked down a venue and a location for our wedding! We are getting married on June 26, 2021. Since it is a destination wedding, my family and I are trying to figure out how to accommodate our bridal party the night before the wedding. They all have significant others, too which is further complicating things. Do we find a block of hotel rooms? An air bnb? or do the bridesmaids and their partners get their own accomodations near the venue? Any brides out there go through this and have any advice on how to go about it?

We are doing a block of rooms at the hotel for our Destination wedding.

I would block of rooms for all of your guests then let them decide if they want to stay there or somewhere else. We had a room block, but not everyone chose to stay at our hotel which was also our wedding venue.

We did a room hold. It was a bit tricky for me as the venue requires 80% of the wedding guests to be staying at the resort. We did pick a resort with a sister resort too, so there were/are 2 options for accommodation. I looked into renting a house or vacation rental, but I simply didn’t want any personality clashes, and I have my divorced parents attending. I also didn’t want any confusion that we would be covering accommodation costs. Everyone, including the wedding party, is responsible for booking and paying for their rooms, but I have held the for 4 nights until 4 months before the wedding date.

I would consider an Airbnb or a block of sleeping rooms including a bridal suite and grooms suite to get ready in. If a multi level hotel, get separate floors for the men and women

We're getting two airbnbs, one for the guys and one for the girls.

I'd do a block of rooms to make it easier, people want to stay with their SOs so then they can all have their own room.
