Destination wedding officiant question

Kim, on February 2, 2021 at 10:20 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 3
My fiancé and I are from Connecticut and considering having a very small, relatively informal wedding in Florida. Sorry if this is a silly question. We're still in the very, very early stages of our planning, so we're still learning and figuring things out. But I was wondering if anyone knows, can an officiant from Connecticut marry us in Florida or does an officiant from Florida have to do it? I'm having trouble finding an answer. Thanks!

You should reach out to the county where you plan to be married to confirm their exact regulations. Each state/county has different rules so best to ask them directly.

It has to be someone that is ordained by the state of Florida to marry a couple
