Destination wedding or close to home ?

We basically want as many people as we want to attend, so location was pretty set in stone. No destination for us.

We always wanted to do a small wedding. We decided to do a DW wedding for a few other personal reasons, but we checked with our VIPs before deciding and they all were excited to go because they saw it as a vacation. We did choose a different location than we had originally wanted because it was a lot cheaper for our families to travel to Jamaica. I would definitely check with your VIPs first. I would also not expect everyone to come. We invited about 60 and have had 30 people book so far. Sometimes I wish we would have done a local wedding, but I think that we made the right decision for us. The planning has been completely stress free for me. They already have everything set, which is really nice.

We looked a venues close to home even in the off season and it was way more than we wanted to spend. We were able to invite everyone we wanted for the destination wedding so we didn't hurt any feelings and a little less than half showed up. Best decision we made.
