Destination wedding planner slow to response

We are having a destination wedding this June and the resort we are having it at makes us go through a second party for the planning until 45 days before. The lady I am working with takes forever to respond back to me. I understand they have other weddings and such, but I have now sent 3 different emails in the last month and a half and not heard anything back. Has anyone else had a problem like this while planning a destination wedding? Am I being ridiculous thinking a response is taking too long or is this normal? Thanks in advance for any feed back.

    Thay is ridiculous. My venue requested that I have a DOC and said the venue itself cannot act as a coordinator on the day of. I get full blown essay responses within a few days! Them neglecting you is not okay. Especially considering they have a job to fulfill.

    Sorry, I get full blown responses from the venues event planners. They aren't even the ones that will be in charge! So for the actual coordinator to not respond is questionable.

    Our travel agent told us this is to be expected. They have a ton of weddings they're doing throughout the year but once you get about 2-3 months out the communication really picks up and they come through for you. Our wedding is in May and I'd be freaking out if our TA hadn't told us this is what they all do. Hang in there!

    This is normal for destination weddings. The communication will pick up about 4 months out and they will (should) be on top of everything then.
