Destination wedding: real vs fake flowers

Kristi, on February 3, 2018 at 12:49 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10
Hello everyone! I’m getting married in Turks & Caicos and am still going back and forth. The price for flowers at my resort is ridiculous. $550 per centerpiece, $575 for my bouquet, $350 for each bridesmaid, etc. I have always been a fan of real flowers just can’t see spending over $3,000 on them. I also can’t bring anything “living” to Turks and Caicos which they consider real flowers at customs or anything onto the resort so shopping around isn’t even an option. Thinking of doing half and half. Do you think the bouquets or centerpieces?

Can you just do some candles? I mean you are in Turks and caicos, why waste $ on centerpieces no one will remember

I’m going thru similar dilemma of just not wanting to pay the resort those ridiculous prices . So I’m looking at websites such as Afloral, amazon and wayfair for ideas on artificial Flowers to get bridesmaids bouquet but will be keeping everything else simple.

I'd keep the real flowers for the bouquets, and use some nice artificial ones that you can bring possibly, for the centerpieces. Or come up with centerpiece ideas that use no flowers.

Thank you! I went to afloral off of your recommendation and love it! It’s in September so I have a little time, payment is due in July. Colors are fuschia, coral and gold. Yes, June will be here before you know it! Congrats!

Thank you for your recommendation! We are trying to keep the flowers in the centerpiece at a minimum. Adding in candles, starfish, and coral.

I would do both, and make some of your own centerpiece
