Destination Wedding - Vendor Fee

Renee, on February 15, 2022 at 10:06 AM Posted in Planning 0 2
I would like to know how did couples who had a destination wedding, particularly in Jamaica, handle the vendor fee for each service outside of the hotel venue. $1000 vendor fee per each service is crazy. You kind of stuck going with what the hotel offers (planner. wedding decor, flowers, DJ, etc) but if you found someone better, you have to pay this fee in addition to what that person charge. I’m getting married in July at the Hilton Rose Hall and I found a better DJ for our reception. But I have to pay a $1000 vendor fee because I’m not using their preferred DJ, which I did research and their DJ is not the greatest. Also, if I get someone outside to do the floral decor, then I will have to pay a fee for that. So I’m going to use their preferred floral designer.

Having to pay outside fees will quickly add up. Did you intend of saving money by going to Jamaica? Are you willing to pay over $1,000 for a DJ. I would personally reconsider

For the DJ, we’re willing to pay the fee because music is very important to us and having a great DJ is something we want. He’s also providing the MC and 360 photo booth. Because it’s one vendor, we don’t have to pay the outside fee per service. For photography, videography, floral etc, the hotel price seems steep and provide the basics, but may have to go their route to avoid additional vendor fees.
