Destination wedding Venue

Kuressa, on July 28, 2023 at 4:07 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
Hey everyone! So I’m planning my wedding and currently trying to get info on some venues I have in mind. I’m having a destination wedding at either Antigua and Barbuda or the Turks and Caicos. If anyone has attended or knows anything about these resorts please let me know! I most likely will not be able to visit before the big day so any info will be much appreciated!

Antigua and Barbuda

  • Royalton Antigua, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort
  • Sandals Grande Antigua
  • Hermitage Bay - need to enquirer, doesn’t look like the package offers as much as others
  • Galley Bay Resort & Spa
  • The Cove Suites at Blue Waters - don’t like the white covered on the ceremony chairs (something they can change?)
  • Hawksbill Resort Antigua - maybe - only kids over 12 allowed and No wedding package on website - accommodations don’t look as amazing as other venues

Turks & Caicos

  • Beaches Turks & Caicos
  • Blue Haven Resort - All Inclusive - other than white table linens?
  • Club Med Turkoise - don’t have wedding package details. May b overpriced

Holy moly, your guests must be super rich if you're considering these locations for a destination wedding! My good friend stayed at Blue Haven in Turks and Caicos for her honeymoon. Stunning resort in all respects, as it should be with its price tag of over $1000 a night to stay there.

I've actually been to a wedding at Sandals Grande Antigua but only because, in a very unusual move, the bride and groom paid for all the guests' accommodations. There was no way anyone would have attended otherwise--way too expensive on top of flights to Antigua.

Are you looking to have your wedding at a resort where you also envision your guests staying (some of the places you've listed are upwards of $1500 a night), or would guests be staying elsewhere?

There is an interesting comment to a post regarding a couple's wedding event. They suggested not to get an all-inclusive site for Turks and Caicos weddings.

Hope the best for you. Sounds great whichever you settle on.

I agree $1000 a night is expense. But, all-inclusive saves you money on food, drinks, etc. We would be paying for the rooms so I'm not too concerned about the nightly fee for the guests. We're planning to block off the rooms, which usually results in a discount. It also depends on what time of year you have it. I've noticed an average of $600 roundtrip flight to Antigua and an average of $400 flight to the Turks and Caicos on weekdays. I'm planning on encouraging all the guests to stay at least 3 nights as well since it would be more worth it for them to come on a weekday - less expensive - than a weekend.

I believe guests would need a guest pass if they do not stay at the resort. Have you experienced that as well? Most places I've reached out to always list a guest pass for events.

Hey, thank you so much for sharing that link with me! Was the comment by Massive_Resort_3230 ? I didn't see any other comment for all-inclusive, so I wanted to ensure I was looking at the right thing. Since the comment was on the variety of restaurants, I am not particularly concerned about that comment. I hope to find a venue with multiple restaurants so my group has more privacy and variety.

Hey, thank you for the tip! I've heard some laws about having to stay on resorts for a few days beforehand and associated fees. I will definitely be checking out the details on each location - don't need any surprises!
