Good morning my Beauties! My wedding is scheduled for the beautiful island of Saint Lucia! Is anyone having a destination wedding and if so did you cancel or if not when is your date? Are you inviting a lot of guests or keeping it small & simple? Have you booked your flights? My fiancé just told me this morning the island plans to reopen in June fingers crossed! What are your experiences so far.

We were planning a destination wedding in New Orleans this November. We did make the difficult decision to postpone until Fall of next year. We just didn’t want to put our guests at risk or compromise on our vision of our wedding (ie, didn’t want to have to cut the guest list down, social distance, wear masks, not be able to provide the fun, care-free party atmosphere we were wanting). Unfortunately, we had already purchased our plane tickets. However, we purchased them at the height of the pandemic, so they were only $160 total for BOTH of our tickets, round-trip!! So at least we aren’t out a lot of money. We are thinking if things have calmed down and it is safe to travel, just the two of us may use the tickets & take a little anniversary trip (our wedding was supposed to be on the anniversary of our 1st date).

Unfortunately as we know postponing weddings are out of our control. Keeping everyone safe is always best and not having to worry with all the gloves, masks -eating, drinking, dancing in NO (which I love New Orleans) and being around everyone feeling uncomfortable would not be ideal for your wedding day. I totally get it. That’s great that you didn’t spend too much money on the flights and like you said once things open up take a trip for your anniversary. Same here purchasing the tickets at the height of the pandemic didn’t cost you too much money there. That is so sweet having a wedding on the anniversary of your 1st date. Just think whether you would have gotten married this year or next this will def be one to remember for sure.

We are having our destination wedding on the NC coast April 2021 and are planning as normal because we have such an intimate guest list and all our family is on the same page about just kind of seeing how everything goes and also we have about a year before our date. I definitely think there is cause for concern and guests may not want to travel for the rest of 2020, but we are staying very hopeful for next spring Smiley smile

Happy Sunday! Congrats to you! Having it in NC next April 2021 is great and exciting. Having everyone -your family and friends on the same page always helps as you do not need anymore added stress due to this pandemic. Was 2021 your original date or you pushed it out due to COVID19? Did you start the other planning -your venue, dress shopping? Selected how many will be in your bridal party?

It is our original date! We have all our vendors booked/deposits down, bought my dress and have it already, and save the dates are all done ready to send out in a month or so. All we have to do is bridesmaid dresses, tux shopping, dress alterations, catering tasting, and invites later! Just thankful we got all this done before covid-19 — I have selected my bridal party and have their proposals ready to go, just waiting a couple months to ask them officially!

That is really great having most of the details ironed out and ready for the next phase of this journey. Being ahead of this madness is a good thing not too much to stress about as so many had to reschedule or not have their wedding this year at all. I am hoping fingers crossed with lots of prayers that I can get back to the final touches by early summer and then Oct will be the better side of this. Even though they claim a 2nd wave but hopefully that won’t impact us. Have you decided on the colors and your wedding theme? I know it was hard for me to find colors since I started searching right during the Winter season which here there are no colors outside of the Red & Gold Xmas season and then my girls & I went to stores late Jan to begin trying on different styles to at least get an idea of how I want their dresses to be or if get them made. What direction are you taking -store bought or made? Do you have any idea the style you have in mind for your ladies & gents? Are you leaving the gents up to your Groom? Or you want to be a part of that as well?

Yeah it’s definitely hard trying to predict how the world will look next year and even within the next couple months. A second wave will most likely hit as soon as we start opening up more, but the point of quarantine was to not to stop the virus (it can’t really be stopped), the point was to prevent overwhelming the hospitals — whether or not more people are going to get sick is not the question, it is just WHEN will that happen, so we just need to stay optimistic and healthy. Our wedding colors are burgundy, blush, and champagne. My FH is going to wear a fancy burgundy suit and our bridal party is going to be in a champagne color. Our venue is super green, modern, and romantic so we are going with very romantic and crisp colors that will stand out against the light tones. Here is pics of our venue and my dress for some reference! Destination Wedding 1

I totally agree -virus is like all else where it will never go away but is a matter of containment less newly dx as possible and decrease in hospitalizations as well as deaths. Life as we once knew it will never be the same which that is how life is regardless to this pandemic nothing stays the same it’s a matter of us adapting to the new normalcy. The venue is very beautiful nice pick!! Really like it!! I can imagine you walking down that aisle. We have similar colors I am doing burgundy, mauve with the pinch of orange and having my guests wear specific colors that won’t offset the bridal parties colors. I have not decided yet on my fiancés attire, I have been going back and forth with him wearing either the burgundy during the ceremony or white to match me and then change into the burgundy for the reception. Your dress is beautiful and fits the venue as well. You did a fabulous job!!! My ceremony will be either on the beach or scenery next to the beach. See the attached picts of the two options I have to select from. Destination Wedding 7

I'm so excited for you!! What an absolutely gorgeous place to get married, wow!!! Those views are increadable.

My fiance and I are getting married in Puerto Rico, where we got engaged! Our original date was set for 3/13/21, but our venue (beach front restaurant we got engaged at) went out of business last month due to everything that's been going on with COVID. We had to shift our plans a lot, but were able to find a new venue. We decided to use that opportunity to push back our date to February of 2022 (with hurricane season and everyone postponing their weddings, it was tough to find a new date that worked for our vendors). So while we're super bummed to wait so long, at least we know there will be a new normal by then hopefully, and any economic hardships on the island will have time to heal a bit.

We decided to add about 25 more people to our original guest list to make it about 85 people, thinking about 60-70 will come. We're having it at a bohemian venue in the rainforest, so it should be fun and special! Our colors are dusty coral and dusty rose, and we're going for a tropical vintage style.

Here's a photo of our new venue! It's got a lot of hispanic charm.

Beautiful that is a really beautiful venue that you changed to. Even though you originally went with a different venue look at this beauty will definitely be one to remember. Also by postponing it as you mentioned you are now able to add more to the guest list with everyone being able to afford it as well as the island slowly but surely healing and recovering from COVID19 as well as the prior earthquakes etc. So this will definitely be a celebration for the two of you, one to remember. Thank you! Yes Saint Lucia is beautiful! I love PR I go quite often, I have family there as well. I always have a great time when in PR so I can only imagine your special day! I am happy for you and can’t wait to see picts after all is done!! Beautiful
