Who is having a destination wedding and getting legally married at the courthouse before you go?

Better than expected. Many things IDFAF about lol, such as programs, favors, etc.
    How is your planning going?

Its so nice to not have worry about getting certain things because you are traveling. It make just a little nervous because we haven't physically seen anything. Definitely alot of trust is needed.

Originally we were going to have a destination wedding but due to various circumstances we'll be a lot closer to home now. When we were planning one, we were going to get legally married after we returned from our honeymoon.

We're getting married at the courthouse first! Our destination is Mexico in summer 2021. We're just doing a symbolic ceremony at the venue; a legal one would only be legal in Mexico and we'd have to get remarried in the US anyway, so we're just doing it beforehand. If we wanted a religious ceremony our venue required the legal documentation ahead of time anyway.

I had a friend that did a "destination" of Charleston SC and she did not get married at the courthouse first. Her officiant just filed all the necessary paperwork I'm pretty sure.

We are having a DW in Cabo San Lucas, MX next Feb and are planning to get legally married at a courthouse the week before we leave for our symbolic wedding. We've heard from many people that it's much easier to do that.

We'll always consider our symbolic wedding to be our "real wedding" - we're saving our personalized vows and my dress/his suit for that day. I have a simple but beautiful white dress for the courthouse and we'll just have our closest immediate family there.

I am, either the courthouse or my fiancé’s cousin who is ordained will do it elsewhere, maybe a beach or park or something? Then we will have our wedding in Spain!

Yes! We are going to the court house with our blended family. Much easier and cheaper than getting legally married in Greece! Then we will have our "symbolic" elopement.
