Destination wedding

Jennisse, on November 17, 2020 at 1:01 PM Posted in Planning 0 23
Hey lovely’s!! So our wedding was supposed to be this past November and it was cancelled due to covid and now our venue is giving us a hard time rescheduling for a new date because of the uncertainty of another possible shutdown, so right now they still have our money and we have no new date! 😑😤 so anywho we are considering just cancelling the whole thing, demanding our money back and starting over with a destination wedding with our closest family and friends!! We are thinking Mexico or Dominican Republic, can all my destination brides give me some input, pros and cons, how easy/hard is the process... all the jazz!!! ☺️ Give this bride some hopeeee 😩🙌🏼 Destination wedding 1

Oh really!! I have a friend getting married there next November and she hasn’t mentioned anything about that, I asked her about restrictions and she said only staff is required to wear mask. I’m shooting for the end of next year so I’m praying things ease out a bit!

I think a lot of people who get married internationally get legally married at home first so as to not have to deal with international rules and regulations regarding marriage.

I think rescheduling to something destination would be lovely and i think both locations can be done “cheaply”.
I’m just not sure how easy it will be to get your money back from your first vendors.

That may be the case but I'm sure there are some who don't and get legally married internationally. My FH's first cousin did this. Just texted him and he did confirm that they got blood tests. Said it was costly due to the having to do it 10 days prior to wedding day so he had to pay for lodging for several days before the wedding.

Yes they do require it. That’s why we switched from Mexico to an island!

Well long story short - it was supposed to be May Jamaica. We looked into the DR, but that was the time the American murders kept popping up one after another at the resorts. Mexico and DR are so cheap and the wedding services are amazing, but I just couldn’t risk it. I would avoid Iberostar resorts in Jamaica if you choose there.
