Destination wedding

Kimberly, on July 26, 2019 at 6:24 AM Posted in Florida Planning 0 11
We live in Kentucky and I have always been in love with the ocean! I visited Florida for the first time eight years ago and have been back one to two times a year since then. Has anyone done a Florida destination wedding? If so, how did you go about it? Or does anyone from Florida have any suggestions on where to go?

Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Florida is beautiful.

The Florida Keys is Home to destination weddings!! I’m getting married at cheeca lodge but there are so many other amazing venues all through the keys. The top spots are islamorada and key west. All depends how big you want it and what your idea location is. Marco island, Fl is also beautiful but I’m from Miami so I’m a bit biased to south Florida

The west coast beaches are gorgeous. Clearwater beach is one of my favs. Also the keys are great. My brother is getting married down south in Boca raton and I'm getting married in St. Augustine. If you want to get married on the beach I would do it on the west of Florida coast. I just personally think the water and sand is so much nicer. I currently live on the east coast about 15 mins from the beach.

I agree with Shelly! West coast beaches are amazing! Clearwater and St. Pete, Ana Maria or Sanibel would all be great choices!

Before I moved to Florida I was thinking about a beach wedding and found a great company called Weddings on a Whim. The gentleman was super nice and helpful. The only reason we didn't go that route was because we moved to Tallahassee it wasn't feasible to try and plan a wedding 4 hours away.

We just got back from Clearwater Beach last month and I loved it, but I didn't love the June grass! Supposedly that happens every year and I am planning a June wedding. Smiley sad

I have visited Florida several times, but haven't switched up locations a whole lot. I've been to Pensacola beach, Clearwater beach, Destin and Daytona beach. I love both sides, but prefer the gulf side any day!

I love the beach so I am wanting to have my wedding on the beach and then our reception around home so more people can at least attend that. However I'm torn because we are planning our honeymoon in Jamiaca! I just don't know if I should go ahead and do my wedding at home also and go bigger with the honeymoon or not.

The farthest south in Florida that I have been is Clearwater beach. I would love to go farther though!

I always wanted a beach wedding and I’m from Maryland. We bought a second home in Florida last year and drove to Clearwater Beach and fell in love and decided to get married there. We just got married in May and loved it. We chose the Hyatt Clearwater Beach and they were amazing to work with. It’s tough planning from afar but they made it much easier. St Pete is another beautiful place. The Gulf side is definitely beautiful. Good luck.
