What's your stance on destination weddings? Are they underrated (beautiful location, awesome excuse to travel, easy way to splurge on a smaller guest list)? Or a little too complicated? I'm indecisive on this one. I think destination weddings are awesome, and if I could afford one, and my family and friends could afford to travel, I would do one.

Overrated. Everyone claims this is cheaper but that's because not many go to it usually. However it is amazing to think it's both a vacation and a wedding. But it's so hard for so many people to go to and I just can't imagine all that money spent for guests to come.

Underrated. Of course, you might lose guests but at the same time you are offering a small vacation to your guests who can make it. Guest list will be smaller and more intimate.

I think they are great for those who are able with friends and family that’s able. Some people choose these destinations and get upset when people they really wanted there have to decline. I think they are great for those who are financially stable with financially stable inner circles. I think they are overrated among those who have friends and family that can’t afford that. I’ve seen many people fall out because they couldn’t go to someone’s wedding in Jamaica or wherever. I’ve seen amazing wedding photos in Mexico and Puerto Rico. The big difference the financial stability of not just the bride and groom.

Underrated. I think people automatically assume it will be expensive because it is a destination. But it many cases it can end up being cheaper than having it locally. I'm all for the DW!

Underrated. A lot of these places are all inclusive so I think it makes planning much easier for the them.

If I were to do it all over again (like a vow renewal) I’d do a destination wedding.

Underrated. I just love the idea and I think even if some people can't make it, you can always celebrate with them later!

I think it’s just personal preference and financial situation.

A little of both. I love the idea of it, but trying to get everyone there could get complicated.

Underrated! While preference is important, it seems to me like the traditional church wedding in town is the default option. This info is available in story books as a child and the norm in movies. It's a great option and everything but going away seems rarely talked about or done.

Overrated. You are more than likely to have out of town guests and now everyone has to make travel arrangements.

Underrated I think this is an amazing idea, only issue I see is that a lot of family cant afford going out of town to , especially if they are out of the country

Underrated. If it were only up to me, I would've been married by now, and on the beach.

Overrated! Air travel is stressful, and so are weddings. Combining the two is just a landline waiting to be stepped on.

Overrated. I think people are thinking they are saving money but really they are not. I considered this but immediately thought it was a bit selfish as I know my family and friends would not be able to afford it. I know people who have attended them and they feel that the time they spent at the destination is all about the couple and they really don't enjoy their vacation either. The time is usually spent doing wedding events. And the couple still has to pay to feed everyone and entertain them. I guess it depends on your people.

This is underrated. I was originally going to have a small intimate destination wedding with our parents and wedding party. Unfortunately, I am west indian, so you leave family out they get offended.

Overrated in my opinion. If I’m going to the Caribbean, Europe, etc.. it will be for my vacation. Not your extra wedding.

For me overrated. You can't have all the people you may want at the wedding due to the time needed off from work and the expense of the travel. I think they are great for some people, just not for me and the vision of my day
