We have a Las Vegas wedding planned for May 2021, we just had the invitations made with this date. How would you go about communicating a date change to your guests if we need to postpone due to COVID without sending a new invitation out?

Phone calls are usually used for short notice, for invitations. Enough personal to express apologies for changing things, and able to answer questions on the spot. After talking to each household, have a followup email ready to send. But go for the personal contact, first.

You have not sent your invitations out yet, right? Just have new ones printed with the new date.

We contacted our guests directly when we made the decision to postpone. It was supposed to be for next month. If your guests already know what date you planned on, I would either contact them or use a wedding platform to send a "change the date" e-card/invite.

If you haven't already, maybe call the company you got your invites from and see if they'd be willing to reprint your invites with a new date for free. I'm not sure of the stipulations on that but I've heard some companies allowed it because of covid.
