Details on Back of Invite?

Victoria, on July 14, 2022 at 1:04 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12
Trying to save some money on invitations and postage. Was thinking of including hotel info, wedding website etc on the back of the invite instead of a separate card as minted offers this for much cheaper. RSVP will still be on a separate card. So you think guests will overlook the back? Is it worth putting the backside of the invite facing front inside the envelope for people to notice?

Some guests may look at the back, but some might completely overlook it. What you could do is, put a note on the front stating something along the lines of, "See reverse side for additional details", which would help direct people to the back of the card. I would also put the wedding website on the front of the card, just in case they still end up not looking at the back. That way, they can still find all info online.

I agree with Lisa. I put my website on both front and back because I knew most people would not flip it over. Here is mine, as an example:Details on Back of Invite? 1

I would but my design I plan to use doesn’t really have space for it. See the attached photo. I
Wondering if putting in the envelope with the back facing up would make people notice the back then flip it over to see the front? Or for the people who do miss it if they will reach out and ask? Details on Back of Invite? 3

Do you have the option of doing maybe a trifold? The important information on the front, maybe a couple pictures of you and your fiancé instead and on the last page the information that you want to add on the back. This way when they open it they see all the information.

Annsbridalbargains.com sells full sets of invitations dirt cheap you can include the details card that guests will not miss. Very few people read the back side and the only information on the invitation itself is for the ceremony.

Our rsvp card had a back to it, so I put on the front “see more on back” type of wording. STILL not everyone saw it. Maybe 80%. If you do a back, definitely do something to direct people to it!

I like the idea from a money and space saving point of view… But to be honest, I would 100% never look at the back of a wedding invitation. If budget is the issue, could you eliminate the RSVP card instead? You could do the invitation, then a details card that has your wedding website on it where guests could RSVP electronically

I like this idea. I don't think I'd make a point of looking at the back of an invitation.

Agreed. I think the trifold is ideal because you can open it and see everything. Wouldn’t have to worry about the back. Details on Back of Invite? 4

    It looks lovely!

How much are you able to customize this designon Minted? You can possibly consolidate the block of text below your names and then use the new-found space to provide your website address. I would reccomend trying to combine the date and time into one line (3PM on January 23, 2022) or see if you are okay with removing "on the" to give you more space. Alternately, you can shift your names closer together and reduce the size of the "and" between them. Just keep playing around with it until you are happy. I hope that helps!
