Developing Rosacea - Wedding in 8 months

Sarah, on September 29, 2016 at 6:46 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 14

I have had near perfect skin pretty much my whole life, and of course now that my wedding is coming up I have developed a skin condition!! Does anyone know of any good treatments for rosacea? I want my skin to look flawless when I say I do!

If you can splurge on it, rodan and fields is amazing stuff.

I agree with Carly - it's expensive when you see the price tag, but I've found it to be worth the price.

My doctor prescribed metrogel, it's not expensive at all and consistently clears my face up in under two weeks. It's worth going to the Dr.

Idk about Rodan and Fields. I tried proactiv and it was so hard on my skin. I'm want something with as little chemicals as possible. Thanks for the recommendation though!

You should see a dermatologist, they should be able to give you recommendations that will treat it. They probably know of quite a few options like which are harsher than others.

Hi Sarah, welcome to WW! Make sure to upload a picture for your avatar (instead of the default icons) so that we can get to know you and tell you apart from all the other posters.

You should definitely see a dermatologist ASAP so they can confirm the reaction your skin is having and give you the best treatment recommendations!

Proactiv is mainly for acne which is almost always oily skin which is the complete opposite if you are developing rosacea. I've had it my whole life. Keeping your skin moisturized and wearing a full coverage foundation on your wedding day.

Go see a dermatologist. They will assess your skin and severity of the rosacea. Believe me, I have had it for almost 20 years. Change your soap to Cetaphil - it is so very gentle and moisturizing and most Derms recommend it. Wishing you well!

You need to see a dermatologist if it is indeed rosacea.

I have struggled with horrendous rosacea for years. The best treatment I've found (and I was reluctant to do this) is a low dose of minacycline or doxycycline. They are antibiotics and have helped my skin tremendously. Definitely go to the dermatologist and have them prescribe something (there's also a metronidazole cream but I rarely use it). Switch to cetaphil or another gentle cleanser and moisturizer. I also love Lush- aqua marina is my cleanser of choice.

I've recently been using clinique redness solutions, the face wash is fantastic and so gentle but removes make up, the moisturiser is fine but not sure it's worth it..

@Denise, no matter how well-intentioned, you can't advertise on WW.
