Diamond fell out of my ring!!

This is the second time!!!! Has anyone had this happen?? It's not my center stone (I would die), just one of the halo ones. And it's right on the prong (which is why i think it keeps happening - not sure if you can really tell in the photo). I took it to the shop the first time and they replaced it....

I took it to the shop the first time and they replaced it. But now it happened again! I am assuming it's the same one but I guess it could be one from one of the other three prongs. what if it keeps happening?? I'm freaking out. I have only had my ring like 10-11 months and a diamond has fell out twice?! ughh

Hi fellow Cleveland bride! Smiley smile I would say go to Kolick Jewelers or Kleinhenz Jewelers. Both family owned and reputable. If you originally went to one of those places to get it, then nevermind, haha. I know that at my jeweler, he will send the ring back to the designer for it to be fixed if necessary. Perhaps they can add an add'l prong to make it more secure? I would be super upset if diamonds fell out of mine but I know that my friend who got her ring from Jared has had diamonds fall out on 10 different occasions in 3 years.

@Bethie - It's from Sheiban out in Strongsville. I think FH actually went to Kleinhenz to look at some but they don't carry Verragio. Sheiban is actually a "Verragio Premier Boutique" which means that Verragio actually did testing on them to make sure they offer the best customer service and quality, etc. I really don't think it's their fault but maybe I am being naive.

And thank you everyone for the compliments on the ring - I am obsessed which is why this makes me even more sad!!

This happened to one of my friends (FOUR of the diamonds fell out of her halo, I would be beside myself) but when she took it back to the jeweler they changed the prongs and that seems to have fixed the problem. I honestly don't remember exactly what they did, but I think they might have added thicker prongs (hers did not have the solid bottom, so I think it's a little different) and perhaps more? But maybe that's an option- to change the type of prongs for the small diamonds?

And to echo what everyone else said, your ring is SO pretty and sparkly.

I wanted a ring similar to yours, FH got me a solitaire and its perfect. He didn't go with my halo suggestion because of the stone falling out issue! Smiley sad I love the look of halos its too bad that is happening!

@Raelyn that pic you posted of the detail is incredible. Surely they can tighten things up. I would never trade your ring in. ever!

This happened to my ring also. They built the prong up around the stones that fell out, I have had no trouble with my ring after they did that. And yes, you will be getting that ring fixed all the time if they don't fix it right.

The diamond has fallen out my wedding band twice in two months so I know exactly how you feel. My engagement ring was great I never had any issues but honestly I need a new band.

Ugh that's tough :/ I'm always fearing that'll happen to my ring. Glad you have insurance and I hope you don't end up having to trade!

Hey, just a question. Im in the process of purchasing my ring this weekend and also its a Verragio ( I have been dreaming about them since before i even had a boyfriend lol). I think their ring is gorgeous and a super reputable brand, i believe you could talk directly with them and arrange to have the ring switched ?

I have been having a really hard time trying to buy my ring, first because theres only one store in Boston (I have been there twice and the customer service is so awful that i almost gave up on Verragio). I sent them a msg directly and they replied within a few days apologizing. I then contacted a store in manhattan, they are clueless about the brand and shank options etc.. I basically was teaching them everything about the ring plus they sent me a diamond center option which had one detail on their website and another one in the GIA certificate ( hello??? someone could clearly buy a ring thinking is H color VS2 , when the certificate says I color, S2 . Not good at all!)

So i sent Verragio another email. Its outrageous! And I feel like im basically begging to get their ring when it should be the opposite. Anyways, they sent me to a "Boutique Store" , its 1h from manhattan which is not good for us since if i have any issue or want a clean up it will be very inconvenient (not sure if any Verragio retailer could do a clean up for free for their rings).

Anyways, now Im finally in contact with them and it feels like they are in the same page as me. Im closing the diamond today and hopefully purchase by this weekend. ( yea, im closing my own ring lol ). Now reading all your experiences ill make sure the boutique store has a lifetime warranty to exchange diamonds that has fallen off and how it will work if i don't live in NYC anymore. (we are canadian traveling for work for a few years).

The ring Im getting is a double halo Venetian 5065cu all white gold.
