Did anyone accidentally find out their FH was gonna propose?

I had a felling it was coming soon. We were at my parents house fh and my dad were in the next room and my loud mouth dad said well did u ask her yet.

The last gift FH gave me this past Christmas was a tiny box from a local jewelry store. My heart started pounding and he was looking at me with expectant trepidation.

It turned out he had given me fancy earrings. I had just gotten my ears pierced for the first time and he was worried whether or not the jewelry was my style. My perplexed reaction left him anxious and he asked later why I apparently didn't seem to like his gift. I mentioned that I thought it was an engagement ring and he said, "I was going to propose on New Year's!"

And he did.

Omg yes!! So my FH calls my Dad to see when he would be available to talk to him. For some reason my Dad calls me asking why my FH called him! I told my Dad I didn't know why and he didn't believe me (looking back I think my Dad thought I was pregnant lol) but it wasn't hard to figured out why. It also didn't help that FH said I should go get my nails done lol. Needless to say, I was engaged the next week

Yea, we got in a fight the day of and he yelled "I should return the ring". But I thought he was just being a extra, didnt' know he actually had a ring and elaborate proposal planned for that evening.

I found out he had seen to my dad without me and immediately began freaking out, I texted my best friend with my suspicions (he had already told her he was proposing) and she talked me out of it! So I sort of found out and then convinced myself I was ridiculous! So about two weeks later I was still very surprised!

Mine straight up told me that he was going to propose to me between my parents' birthdays (late August-mid September). He proposed 2 days after my dad's birthday in September.

One day FH said he was staying home sick from work. I got home later and turns out he had had lunch with his Mom, who had the family jewelry. My interest was peaked. Months later we had planned a trip to Boston and I swore it was going to happen there. Nope. Turns out that was his plan but the ring wasn't ready in time. The following week he went to my parents, then to my bowling league and proposed in front of everyone (embarrassing lol) but awesome.

It's amazing how special it still feels without the surprise!

One day we were grilling and he yelled in from the porch for me to use his phone to look up something. I went to google and his last few searches showed "engagement rings" and things like that. My best friend was in town so I showed her and we went in the basement and started jumping around and yelling "eeeeeeee". Totally girly moment and it was awesome. I still didn't know when he was going to propose, so that was tortuous since I knew it was coming soon.

Yep. One Saturday last May, I was going to my sister’s to hang out with my one year old niece, and my SO had planned on going car shopping with his dad and uncle, for a truck for his uncle. As I was getting dressed, he told me he was going to catch up on work instead. But, as I was walking out the door, I noticed he was on his personal computer, not his work computer. I couldn’t help but suspecting something at the back of my head, but I brushed it off. So, a few hours later, he called me and said he was going to lunch later with one of his friends. But, I could tell he was driving, so I asked him where he was. He was in a part of town he doesn’t usually go to where there’s a really locally popular elite jewelry store. Later when I got home, he was passed snoring out on the couch, so out of curiosity, I peaked at his browsing history. Sure enough, he was looking up rings at that jewelry store. A couple days later while looking for something, I found the ring box in a drawer in the spare bedroom. I didn't dare touch it, though. Even though he proposed that Friday, I was still surprised.

I got you all beat lol!!! I dropped off my FH at my dads house while I went to get my hair done (we're older and both 1st marriage for both) my dad is a "snowbird" so he's only in Massachusetts for a very short time. Long story short I got back to my dads (he's 83) and announces that he has welcomed my man officially into the family!!! I look at my FH face and the look of shock was priceless. As I said we're older so we've talked about it, but I didn't know when or where. Well my dad plays us like a fiddle and has the wedding planned B4 I even had the ring!!! He's still has all his facilities but I was beginning to wonder!!! So we officially got engaged on November 20th and we're getting married June 10th. Best part is I talked to my sisters and said I'd love to call dad but he already thinks I have a ring. They both laughed and said call him. I called, told him and he said about time was afraid he was waiting until June 9th!!! Mind you he picked out the date too lol. Got to love him!! And my FH for being so understanding!!!!

I did. First of all, we picked out the ring together. Then he asked me to do something on his email account and I saw an email from this place that had special significance to us. I didn't click on it, but because of it's significance to us, I pretty much knew it was about a proposal. I wasn't 100% sure, but I was like 95% at least. I went to 100% when the weekend before we were going to that place, he conveniently "had to work" for the exact time it took to go to the ring seller's place and back.

It didn't ruin it at all and I was still really surprised by what the proposal entailed (a surprise party) and that he asked my parents and such. And I didn't know the exact day or anything. Actually, I'm glad I knew because I got my nails done and made sure I looked good haha. I haven't told him that I knew. I know he takes great pride in surprising me.

Moral of the story: It wasn't any less special.

I was looking for something and I felt my FHs bag that he takes to work with his stuff in it and I thought I felt something that was the shape of a ring box, so of course I looked inside and found the empty ring box and the receipt. He was smart and had my parents keep the ring at their house because everyone knows I'm a snoop. I knew it was coming soon and he purposed in our living room while both of our families and closest friends were over for Thanksgiving.

ETA: I have never told anyone that and it feels so good to tell you all. lol.

I knew the proposal was coming just didn't know when. I found the ring receipt in his jeans pocket (and spend the better part of the vening googling every single word on the receipt trying to find what the ring looked like). The next day we went hiking and he ran up to go to the bathroom and I went to put water bottles into his backpack and I saw the box. I was freaking out the whole day (inside). I never told him I knew though and I won't. At least not right now. He was so nervous it was adorable even though we were already in the midst of "planning".

I had a feeling because he went to my parents house one day and had lunch with my nephew. He sent me a picture of him so I thought for sure it was coming. In reality, he didn't ask my dad's permission that day, but a week later. And a month after that, after he visited his father he proposed on a Wednesday of all days.

I did only because my FH giggled for a week leading up to it. Like tears streaming down his face laughing. That's always how I know he's fibbing. Lol! So I didn't know EXACTLY when but I definitely knew it was coming soon.

Lol, yes! My FH picked me up from the airport after I went on a trip. I remember being mildly upset because I was tired from the long flight and he was very late picking me up, but I tried not to let it show. I guess he could tell I was annoyed because I wasn't in the car more than 2 minutes when he blurted out that he had been at my parents house asking them for their blessing. We were engaged a few weeks later

It was still kind of a surprise. I just came back from OC for a Bachelorette party for his cousin. Well while we were there he said first we were going to Texas roadhouse for dinner with his parents and his aunt. Ok cool. I love Texas roadhouse. Then he crushed my dreams and said we're having a family picnic. Ok still cool anyway. So we're all waiting for dinner to be done, there's like 15 of us. Dinner was finished, and everyone walks out onto the back deck. I'm the last one (other than FH) to walk out. EVERY SINGLE PERSON had their eyes on me. Was creepy. What ruined the surprise was out of the corner of my eye, I saw my sister and her boyfriend. Standing in the yard. So I turn around to demand an explanation from my FH and sure enough I whip around to him sliding down onto one knee. It was still really special

I was with him when he bought the ring. He just refused to ask me right away. He kept the ring out on our table so it was just sitting there staring at me. I knew he was going to ask, obviously, but didn't know when. He knew it was driving me crazy and he thought it was hilarious. Two weeks later we went to dinner and I didn't realize he had snuck the ring in his pocket before we left. Then he finally asked me to marry him in the parking lot of the restaurant.
