We got engaged in December, we didn't start telling everyone on social media until we told our families at Christmas!

Yes we did and I regret doing so a bit. It got out of hand how many people actually asked for invites.

We made sure our family and closest friends knew before we posted on social media. I'm a crazy cat person, so we made a sign that said "cats of honor" and posted a photo of them posing with it announcing that we were engaged.

We announced it on Facebook immediately. I regret it slightly, not calling and telling everyone first. But I will say that I was so excited and so happy I just wanted to tell everyone at once. All in all it worked out and everyone was okay with it.

I absolutely did! I wanted all my friends and family to know! Those who I couldn't tell in person were able to know right away

The first person who found out was our airbnb guy, lol. We were out of town so I only called my sister because she was flying out of the country the next day, and then I called everyone on the way home from our vacation. He told his family here and there and after a week I posted on Facebook about it. It ended up being April 1st so everyone kept asking if it was an April fool's joke. Haha. Only 70 more days to go!

Due to it being a long engagement we haven’t announced it on social media yet. I’d like to do an engagement shoot first. The engagement shoot photos are going to be used for the save the date magnets so I’d like to do it closer to the occasion but I’m sure people will notice eventually lol

My fiancé popped the question during our holiday Christmas card photo shoot. We announced our engagement on our Christmas cards. But we did not share our engagement on social media until after the holidays. We wanted to enjoy the moment and make it last as long as we possibly could.

We did announce on social media! Both of our immediate families were present for the engagement, so the Facebook announcements went out pretty quickly after! ☺️💕

I actually didn't announce it on social media. Only a handful of people knew before I told my parents, after that the only feeling I announced was our (originally) wedding date and had people guessing.

He told me to pick up a gift that had been under my family's Christmas tree and open it, in reference to the tradition of opening one gift on Christmas Eve. I opened it and it was a book of everything he loved about me and all the things he wanted to do together in the future. At the very end there was a drawing of him proposing and when I looked at him he got down on one knee! It was very sweet and I am so happy that I can have this book to show the family that couldn't be there how he did it!

The Proposal

We called and texted all our family and close friends before we posted on FB, Instagram and changed our relationship status.
I just moved for a job and he talked to my family 2 weeks after and asked for their permission. On his first visit he popped the question because he just couldn’t wait. ♥️

We announced our engagement on Facebook. During our engagement dinner in Lagos Nigeria. He proposed to me a day after my birthday. That was the best birthday gift. I could ever have.
