No, we didn't announce on social media. There's maybe 5 people if that on my Facebook that I'm close with and FH rarely posts on social media unless it's photos of our travels. We keep our private lives off Facebook which keeps everything sane with our friends and family. I also like the idea of keeping it private as that allows us to plan our wedding our way without the interference of others and so far during the almost 2 years we have been engaged I have not received a single question asking if someone is invited nor any regarding the wedding which is a relief. I also haven't had any problems or drama with anyone which I think is partly due to not sharing on social media. That said I do enjoy seeing others announcements on social media as some of them are so amazing and I like sharing in their happiness.

I forgot to add that I did snapchat my sister and brother the day after which was pretty awesome especially since it kind of felt like they were with me instead of an hour away as I don't see them much. For stuff like that snapchat is my favorite and then I messaged everyone the day after that I thought should know privately on Facebook which allowed for ring pictures and well wishes to be shared privately between us.

Thank you. Smiley smile When people saw the photo it was a mix of "Is this for real?" "Congrats!" And the one I heard the most "Finally! About time he asked!" 😊😄

We chose to save that moment for ourselves and I'm glad we did. We plan to have it on display at our wedding (There's a whole reaction that was captured beautifully). In the age where everything is displayed on social media, sometimes its best to keep some moments for yourselves. He proposed on my birthday trip to Bermuda earlier this year. AND HIM IN ALL WHITE SHOULD'VE GAVE IT AWAY BUT I PROMISE YOU I WAS CLUELESS LOL!

We announced it on social media about 30 minutes after he proposed. My parents and his parents and his sister and her fiancé already knew he was going to do it.

We announced on social media a few hours after it happened. We made sure to call immediate family and grandparents and our best friends first.

We don't have social media so we called our closest friends and we told our family in person. Some found out a week later others found out almost month later... as for our extended family, well im sure someone told them lol.

My fiance proposed over a quiet dinner....he casually was just like "I really love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you.." he didn't have a ring but that night we went to pick one out and the next day we went to my parents where (even though he asked and I already said yes) he asked my father's permission. The following day we posted it on social media Smiley smile

We did a few days after the proposal. After I had called my family and told the and the crazy misadventures of the engagement. Everything went wrong. . But in the end, turned out right.

We announced it on Facebook and Instagram a few days after the proposal so we could have some private time together. He came to visit me for a week while I’m working overseas and he surprised me!

About four hours after we got engaged, we called our parents first, the rest of our families, then friends. The following evening we posted a picture of us with the engagement ring with the caption “fiancée has a nice ring to it.” It was nice to have a little time just to ourselves before the flood of notifications after posting it!
