Did you announce your engagement on social media?

We had a private proposal on the Riverwalk in New Orleans after he asked my children and my parents. We shared it with immediate family and close friends that night, on Facebook the next day, and Instagram a few days later.

View Quoted Comment He planned to propose on a cruise to the Bahamas (I had no idea it was coming) however the day he was going to do it I started feeling sick from too much sun (and rum punch) so he put it off until later that evening. Then later, in our rush to get back on the cruise ship on time, he forgot his bag in a restaurant in Nassau! The bag contained my engagement ring. The ship sailed leaving the bag and ring behind. I didnt understand why he was so upset at the time... He ended up running to the ship shops and buying an inexpensive "place holder" ring so she could still go though with his plan.

He proposed on the back of the cruise ship with the lights of Nassau in the distance.

We ended up getting the bag and my ring back with help of the cruise lines porters and customer service. It took 20 days but we did get it back

We posted on social media that same afternoon, we have a lot of family that stays in touch that way.

Facebook, later that day after we reached out to our loved ones 😁

I tried to share it on New Years Eve 2017 when I was drinking a beer and eating crackers and dip. The ring was on my finger in the picture and no one figured it out.
The next morning, I called Mom and asked her how much she liked Brandon and when she told me I said good because he proposed last night.
Then I reposted the picture on Facebook and said, seriously do you all not see what’s up on the left hand and the friends and family lost it! 😂

Announced on social media the day after

We announced it on fb one year before the actual date of the wedding with this picture. We were engaged at Disney World in Hollywood studios and themed the announcement to that.

We changed our status on Facebook two days after we got engaged. We wanted to tell our families first.

Wow what a great photo, Hawaii is such a beautiful place for a proposal!

We told immediate family and just a couple friends the night of and next day. Then we waited until we got his kids to tell them in person and after that we posted it on facebook and stuff. We are thinking about posting an engagement photo once we take them for the paper (not sure if people still do that)
