Did you do a Candy Buffet AND favors?????

Jamie, on November 26, 2011 at 3:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 22

We absolutely HAVE to do a candy buffet......can't have a Halloween wedding without CANDY! But, should I do favors on top of that or is it ok to just provide candy as a favor? We will have treat bags out for our guests to help themselves to however much or little they want.

We're doing a candy buffet also and putting favor bags or boxes out for guests. I don't think any favors on top of that are really necessary.

Most people count the candy buffet as their favors because they provide little bags or boxes so that the guests can take the candy home.. That's what I plan on doing

We're going to have activity pack favors for kids, in addition to our candy buffet. I want to do coffee bean favors for the adults.

We are doing a candy buffet with bags for our guest to take home and also since most of our guest are our age (22-23yrs old) and college friends we are going to have coozies for people to have with our names and wedding date. So we will have those set up at the bar (open bar) for people to have when they get beers or drinks.

I agree with Danielle. Most people just do the candy buffet as there favors. My best friend is getting married in June of next year and she wanted to do a candy buffet but now she is doing favors AND an ice cream sundae buffet seems how it is an outdoor wedding.

Candy is fine as the favor. We did a candy buffet with a little rhyming message saying thanks and left out bags for people to fill.

People started at the candy buffet before my photog could get there to get pictures, lol!

I honestly don't think favors are needed.

What about little trick-or-treat bags, or tiny plastic pumpkin baskets for the guests to take candy? FH and I are both lovers of Halloween, though sadly not having a Halloween wedding.

We are doing a candy bar as well as cd's that look like 45s with our favorite reception music on it. I would just do the candy bar if I wasn't sold on doing the cds

KitCat, we are doing something very similar! We are making up little goodie bags for the young kids to have something to do during the reception. We are doing a very small candy bar with vintage candies from the era our wedding is based around (1920s-1930s). I looked up on-line candies that were manufactured and debuted during this time and you'd be surprised how many there are actually!

All the candy at our candy buffet will be individually wrapped so guests can just swipe a few with their hands. Our favor is just a bag of purple kisses in an ivory organza pouch. So we plan to sugar our guests up! Smiley laugh

I was not planning on doing both, but my step father loved his daughters candy buffet, so we are having both.

I think if you make nice boxes/bags, they are fine as a favor. I would just make sure you have enough fore everyone.

We had a DW, so I felt we had to do more. We had welcome bags filled with goodies, maple candy favors. I also put take away bags on the Italian dessert table.

We did both.....We had personalized bottled water and fans at the ceremony site as it was outdoors and did horseshoe key chains as well as the candy buffet with some home made candy as well as store bought. Our guest loved it.

We're just doing a candy buffet - anything more seemed like overkill to us - plus, our budget couldn't handle more. Smiley smile We did 1/2 pint Chinese takeout boxes to put the candy in, with a little label/sticker that said "thanks for celebrating with us".
