Did you eat?

I’m back!!! The wedding was so fun and way better than I could have imagined. There were some drop outs but we still had so much fun regardless. Our reception was 4 hours and we were dancing and mingling. The only thing I wish I could have changed was the fact that I did not eat!

I wasn’t too hungry and I was so excited to see everyone that I took a few bites and stood up. I told my caterer that he could take my plate and pack it up. He agreed with me. I came back later and the plate was gone so I figured it was packed. Nope! The bartender didn’t get the memo and threw it away!!!!! I was so glad he was helping keep everything tidy but I was so excited to try out the food later.
Did this happen to anyone else?

Oh not that sucks! I definitely got to eat at our minimony, my husband and I sat down and ate at our sweetheart table. I do plan to eat at our upcoming reception as well, specifically because I plan on drinking a good amount so I don't want to on an empty stomach!

Glad that you had fun ad enjoyed your wedding though!

My dj said “sit down and eat or you’ll regret it!” I was like I’m good! Yeah you have to have a full stomach before drinking!

Hi ! Well, I'm glad I ate all during our tasting dinner, cause on THE day, I didn't eat much... ;-) A little bit yes, but I was focused on what we should do next, etc... After the wedding all that was packet was the alcohol and our wedding cake, so I could eat more of that...

This did happen to one of my friends though, she was so busy greeting people that she didn't eat either. Her & her husband ended up going to Green Turtle after the wedding for food and more drinks lol

I had worked so many weddings as a catering server and seen enough couples not eat, that by the time I got married, I knew we needed to make that a priority. I had also been in two bridal parties where there was no lunch provided and everyone was STARVING by the time the reception rolled around. I'm someone who needs to eat regularly or...it ain't pretty. So, I had my priorities. Smiley laugh

I didn't eat at my wedding.

Honestly, I was too worked up - far too excited. I tried one bite and immediately felt like I was going to puke. So I didn't eat. My husband was also far too excited to eat.

I, too, wish we'd had it packed up. When we got to our hotel, we were both starving!

Our venue coordinator said that if we didn't eat, she hadn't done her job.

Between a sweetheart table and having the only dedicated server at a buffet wedding, our venue made sure we had dinner.

    I'm sorry you didn't eat!

I didn't eat, and I don't think my husband did, either. I was already feeling a bit nauseous from how warm I was and my dress + spanx didn't give my stomach a lot of room to expand. DH had surgery on his stomach and intestines a few years ago, and so he can't always eat, so I think he only took a few bites before he couldn't get anything more down.

We picked up Taco Bell on our way home, though!

I've planned and coordinated many weddings before and food was always something I was intentional about the bride and groom getting. Since I planned our wedding, I made sure to create a timeline that set distinct times for us to dance, greet/thank guests, and EAT! We had a large head table with our wedding party and their dates so we were able to socialize with them while eating. There was plenty of time for us to eat as much as we wanted and we took full advantage of that.

I'm so sorry to hear that you had to go through that. But maybe you should go back there one day and order the same food. Before they change their menu if they change it at all. And it's always a good thing to try cooking the same food they cooked for your wedding day. It helps to make some time go by on the days that you feel board.
