Did You Get Emotional When Walking Down the Aisle?

on April 23, 2019 at 12:48 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

Me and my fiance had a long engagement period (18 months) and we've dated for 4+ years. We've been practicing first dance and walking down the aisle the past few days and I can't feel any emotions coming out... I am so over with all the wedding planning...

Did you get emotional when walking down the aisle even though you dated your fiance for a long time or have an engagement period?

Neither of us cried during the aisle walk but we did tear up at other amazing moments (seeing our DIY reception all finished, first dance).

Not too worry! I was SO over wedding planning at the 30 day and one week mark. But once everything starts the day of, butterflies or other emotions may kick in. Hang in there! 💕

We both sobbed while I walked down the aisle! And leading up to the wedding I was so over everything. I was crying from stress and saying I was just ready for it to be over.

Our engagement was 2 years. We did a first look and that was all smiles and jokes but not really emotional. As for the walk down the aisle, I didn't even make eye contact with him because I was so focused on not tripping 😂 neither of us are very emotional people, though, so I didnt expect any different. None of the day was emotional for us.

I haven't gotten married yet, but I had a friend who dated her now husband for I believe 6 years, but only had a 7 month engagement. Everyone was crying at the rehearsal, but I think everyone (except maybe some guests) held it together during the wedding. I think it also depends on how emotional you are. I thought for sure I would tear up or cry when my FH proposed because every time I thought about it, I would tear up. I didn't cry at all and I'm thinking it'll be that way on my wedding day, but who knows.

I wouldn’t expect any emotions to come out of practicing. However, when the day finally comes and you’re in your wedding dress and all fixed up, I’m sure they will come out. Not saying you will cry (you might tho), but it will definitely be more emotional during the real thing. With that being said, there is no right or wrong way to feel. So don’t get discouraged, if you don’t have the emotions, that movies/social media portrays all brides to have.

I haven't gotten married yet. However, everytime I think about my grandfather walking me down the aisle, I get emotional. Also, thinking about my MOH giving a toast, I know I'm going to cry!
