Did you get your hair done when you went wedding dress shopping?

Gabrielle, on October 25, 2018 at 10:21 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 18
I am going wedding dress shopping this weekend and I booked an appt and it’s $60 to get my hair done. I feel like if I have my hair sort of the way I want it for my wedding then it will help knowing how I will look on my wedding day.

No, I just made sure I had my hair up because that’s how I plan on having it for the wedding.

God no. You get hot. Sweat. Your hair will get wrecked while getting pulled into dressed.

No need to worry about your hair! You're so focused on the dresses that, yes you look at yourself in the mirror but you're more focused on the fabric, details, and fit of the dress! No need to book a hair appointment for that, you may not find the perfect one and it was wasted in a sense. The experience will be great with any hairstyle!

No. Never even considered it. I wouldn't pay the money.

I didn’t get my hair done. Just pulled it up like it would be on my wedding day. I went to multiple dress appointments on different days, so it would have been a waste to get my hair done and then not find a dress that day, or spend so much money for multiple days of dress shopping to have my hair done each time. That doesn’t make sense to me. I just dried and curled my hair, and pulled it back myself!

No, I didn't. I curled my hair to give a similar illusion and that was the extent.

I didn't. I went after a work conference, so I didn't look cute at all haha and had on weird boots. I also knew my dress would dictate my hair and makeup and shoes and accessories so I found a dress I liked and went from there. When I go back for my final fitting, I'll have my hair the way I want and shoes I want!

I didn't. I actually had to run through the rain into the store for my appointment. So in some of my pictures I literally felt like a wet dog. Still found an awesome dress!

I did my makeup really nice and had a clip to put it up. I say if you can afford to get it done before, and you think it will help you make your decision - then go for it!!

I did my own make up really nice, love doing my makeup and did my own blow out. Doesn’t compare to if I get it done in a salon, but I did it as if I was going on a date or out with friends. I feel it completes the look more when you are trying on clothes if you have your hair and makeup done. Plus I knew I wanted to take pics to remember that special day.

I had my HMU trial before I had my first true dress fitting; that was the first time I would see my dress with all accessories, HMU done, and shoes.

I fixed my own hair how I do on a daily basis so I looked put together. It is hot and sweaty, I ended up clipping my hair up and only letting it down for dresses I walked out to the full mirrors to see.

I wouldn't. I just curled my hair & had some makeup on so I could see what the dresses would like when I'm "done up" more than normal.

I never thought about that, but I probably wouldn't care much for my hair. I'd most likely choose a neutral hairstyle and roll with it.

I think it's a fun idea!! I blew out my hair so it looked nice and put on a little extra eye makeup when I went dress shopping. It definitely helps you envision the whole look (and makes for much better phone pics of you in the dress to reference)!
