Did you invite someone out of obligation?

Time to fess up and find out if you are innocent or guilty ! Did you invite someone out of obligation? Are you innocent or guilty?? Next question: Did you buy shoes you know you won't be able to walk in on the wedding day? To start from the beginning, click here: Are you innocent or guilty? ...

I invited cousins I hated and prayed they wouldn't come. Luckily the no-kid rule kept them from coming!

Ugh, yes. They're mostly our parents' friends too, but our families are helping out a lot financially so we have to. I'm hoping most will decline Smiley smile

I am inviting one of my cousins even though I don't like him. He's a jerk. And I could live the rest of my life without seeing him again. But his wife and her kids adore my mother and grandmother. They called to wish my mom a happy birthday but only texted her twin sister. They call and ask when she's going to come and visit and it's really cute. I don't want to screw that up by not inviting them. Her family isn't that involved with her kids. I don't think they will come anyway

Pretty much all of my dad’s side of the family was only invited due to obligation. We don’t talk to or see them anymore so it was kind of pointless to invite them.

Hey Mrs BdeG: I thought you were not religious!!! Smiley winking To answer the post: First time wedding in the early 90's hell yes - I had to invite people out of obligation.

This time: Hell no, it is OUR wedding, our funding, and everyone there is there because WE love them not because we are coerced.

Lol it was a figure of speech for that sentence. My heart was begging any higher power they would just not 😋

Still super anti religion, Malted! Don't you worry. 🙃

My DH and I are planning a renewal/anniversary shindig and it's going to be all people we like/no obligatory invites!

That is the way to do it!! No obligatory invites!!! I think being on the obligatory list is just as bad as being B-listed, really. Don't invite me because your parents think I should come. I am a ball at weddings, but still.....

I haven't sent invites yet. But this applies to about half of my FH's family, as his mom is part of 10 brothers and sisters. So we had to invite all aunts, uncles and cousins... even though we see half maybe 0-1 times a year LOL

So, I'm Mexican. Everyone kind of just..shows up To a Mexican wedding. BUT I'm sure there will be people attending I'm indifferent about. As long as they don't cause drama.

Big part of the reason we’re eloping without family is because the obligation would be one of his siblings. If we invited the rest of the siblings and not her that’s be as rude as she is Smiley winking lol
