Did you lose weight for your wedding dress?

Tanyia, on October 22, 2019 at 3:54 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 12
Curious to know. Did you say “Yes to the Dress” then lost weight, or did you go one a workout crush before and lose, or did (or will) you just go as is down the isle?

I lost 15 lbs but it was after they ordered my dress. I ordered it in my current size, then started alterations 3 months out and continued to lose weight until 1 month out.

I already workout most days a week (I’m also a fitness instructor so it comes with the territory) I’ll step it up a few months before the wedding just to really feel perfect. But I’d hardly consider that going “as is”. A lot of people are already in shape and at a healthy weight and have no need or desire to lose more. I wouldn’t call that “as is”
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to look and feel your best at your wedding but when you change your diet and fitness routine think of it as a lifestyle change, not a diet for the wedding. You’ll have much more long term success! Good luck! And I’m sure you look beautiful now too “as is” 💗

I've been on a long fitness journey, starting freshman & sophomore year of college when I gained 20 pounds each year (I lost most of the weight after freshman year summer, and put most of it back on that fall). Smiley amazing I started getting more into working out around when FH and I started dating in 2014, but I've had struggles here and there along the way! What finally worked for me was switching to mostly vegetarian meals (especially for lunches & during the week) and eating fewer sandwiches, crackers, and chips. My motivation to eat healthy has been at its strongest during our 9 month engagement. Smiley smile

I bought a dress a size too big and then lost weight during alterations (20lbs). I ended up not liking how conservative the dress was mid-alterations and ended up ordering a new dress to size! Now, it's just maintaining for the next 24 days!

I purchased my dress a year before my wedding. It fit just right but I just started the work outs to tone my arms and mid section. I love my curves but I also want to look my best.

I bought a dress two sizes smaller than I was and it fit by the time it arrived. I still have two months and intend to lose another ten pounds to really feel my best since we're going to Mexico for our honeymoon and I want to wear cute bathing suits without feeling insecure. Lol

20lbs down (ordering dress on Thursday) and 10-20 to go! Less about the actual pounds and more about being toned. I still have some "fluff" I want to get rid of

I am recovered from an eating disorder and think diet culture is toxic, so I will not be losing any weight before my wedding. It's unnecessary and promotes negative body image and self-worth. I think it's awful that women even feel the pressure to lose weight for their wedding day, because our size shouldn't dictate our happiness.

Honestly going as if, 10 pounds less wouldn’t have hurt but honestly didn’t do much to help it haha. Just enough to keep the same weight
