It's hard to contain that proposal excitement!! Once you're engaged you want to share that news with the world right away! It's hard to contain that proposal excitement!! Once you're engaged you want to share that news with the world right away! Did you make sure your family members were the first to hear the news before taking to facebook, instagram, or twitter? Or did you post your #justsaidyes moment right away and then start ringing your fam??

Did you break the news first on social?? Time to confess if you're innocent or guilty!

Innocent. I waited 2 weeks to announce on Facebook, because it took that long to inform our parents, siblings, best friends, our coworker friend group, my local cousins, and my close friend group first.

Noooo, I didn't post it until several days later. I made sure family and close friends knew day-of, but then we just kind of reveled for a few days!

Innocent! That’s a big no-no in my book. Immediate family should know first before posting out of respect

I didn't but FH did. He asked, I said yes, we kissed, and then I started to call my sister. While I was calling her, FH is making an engagement post on Facebook! As I'm saying to my sister, "I have something to tell you..." she goes "OMG you're engaged?!? Why didn't you call me before you posted it?" I had to tell her I was sorry, but that FH seems to have beat me to it! My sister just happened to be on Facebook at the time. So, I hurried to make the rest of my phone calls before anyone else saw the post.

Somewhere in between, I told my mom first but then posted it. So we will say guilty.

I told my family first. Only had to make 4 phone calls, small family 🤣

However, I rushed to where my Matron of Honor worked to tell her the good news, completely forgetting that she works with my fiancé's aunt. So his aunt found out from me before he had a chance to tell her! Oops!

Innocent. We told both of our families in person, and our closest friends, before posting anything on social media.
