Did you try on a dress you know you can't afford?

We all know we’re “not supposed to”, but during your hunt for the perfect dress - did you ever try on a dress that you knew was way out of your price range? Are you innocent or guilty ? Next Question: Have you lied about your venue's capacity to justify not inviting someone?

Nothing wrong with that!! If it's the one, it's the one! What kind of style is it?

No way, that's awesome!! A friend of mine just did the same thing! Sorry to hear about the alterations, always a sneaky cost!

Here’s the design (top half). It’s long sleeve with lace patterns and a covered back. The only thing I don’t like about it is the chest being revealed (wanted something more modest) so if I can find that with something similar in design I’ll be golden

No, I actually never tried on any dresses besides the one I purchased. I found my dream dress at a store nearby and had it shipped to my home as it was the last dress in stock and had been drastically reduced in price. I'm happy with my choice as it is exactly what I wanted and I had been shopping for my dress for years before as we knew we were getting married even before the official engagment. I'm glad I got the dress and I love it. I am currently looking for my reception dress which may actually cost a little more than my wedding dress which doesn't matter as I paid $200 for my wedding dress which was originally priced at $1,500.

No. I tried on every dress in the store that didn't have lace, and even with that none of them were over my budget. I ended up getting a dress SO MUCH cheaper than I had planned on.

Despite the original measurements being close to my size, after taking out the old padding in the breasts, it suddenly has to come in a good amount and there's a fair amount of lace on the bodice that is likely pushing the cost up. Not sure if I should take it to other dress shops to see if I can get it done cheaper, but I'm also worried about doing that since it's not a dress I bought at any specific boutique.

Yes!! My budget was 600, but I only felt that I didn't want to spend more then 300 since there are so many beautiful dresses online for that price or less. I went to the salon, tried on a dress for 800, fell in love, and my mom bought it for me. They gave me a discount so the dress came down to 649. It's over my internal budget since I didn't want to spend so much, but it's beautiful and I love it!!!

No because I will be broken hearted if it's perfect. I tried on similar styles to the out of budget dress I liked but it did not flatter me at all.

Very guilty! I didn't want to spend more than $2k as I could not justify it for a dress for one day, but I knew I could spend more if I really wanted to. I also made it a point at all my bridal appointments to say that I had an unlimited budget - I feel like I definitely got extra attention from my consultants this way (I would encourage others to do so only if they have a very strong sense of self control haha!) I ended up spending around $4.5k.

No. I haven't been shopping for it yet though. I know there is a dress I love, but it costs more than i'd like to spend, but it really is still affordable

Yes, my budget was around $****. I went to try on a dress that I really liked that was about $1800. I showed the consultant another one I really like and she had just gotten a new dress in that put the two dresses together. It was a lot out of budget but my fmil told me to try it on anyway. I tried it on hoping I wouldn’t like it. I did and I force myself into the other dress that I originally was going on for. Once I put that dress on, I knew it wasn’t my dress. I ended up getting the one way out of my budget. Luckily my fmil paid the difference.

Nope! I have yet to try on any dresses, with my date being so far away. But I am SURE that I will try one on, sooner or later.
