Different Colored Tablecloths?

Lauren2010, on May 16, 2010 at 1:28 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 13

I am trying to decide on the decor for the reception and need some advice. FH and I absolutely do not want all white. The wedding coordinator at the venue suggested coral tableclothes (our colors are coral and peach with brown and beige accents), but that seems like too much coral to me.

Has anyone seen any weddings where they've used different color tableclothes for different tables? For example, some tables would have a coral tablecloth, and another would have brown, and another might have beige? Could this work? Any words of advice on trying to pull something like this off?

What if you alternated between a soft peach and beige? i think the softer the better.

We were actually going to alternate between bright orange and hot pink so I think it depends on what u want.. we actually ended up going with brown because we couldnt get the colors to match exactly. I think that COral and brown would look great!

I think just tie them in with similar centerpieces and chairs

We are doing teal tableclothes with hot pink runners. you could do a peach cloth, brown runner, and then use peach in your centerpiece. I think that would look good.

@Brooklynne: That's a good idea - I had forgotten about runners, which could also help to break up the color so it's not just a ton of one color.

I also like the ideas that Sara and Casey suggested. My big concern was looking too bold so I like the idea of using peach and beige as the base colors since they are softer, and then tying them in with similar centerpieces and chairs - maybe coral centerpieces and chair decor...

GREAT ideas, ladies - this is why I love Wedding Wire! Everyone always has such great suggestions

You might even want to have on some tables.....

coral tablecloth with brown runner and on others...

brown tablecloth with coral runner (or something similar)

It can be anything you want it to be!!!

I like Shannon's idea--you could also just do brown tablecloths on everything, but then use different colored runners on different tables, too, so it's not overwhelming with color but still pretty.

Or do something like that with the softer colors. And I like the idea of using similar styled centerpieces on all the tables. (even if you use different colors there too, just keep them looking very similar in height, shape, and style)

Oh I LOVE the idea of using the same tableclothes and different colored runners! This is exactly why I need help - I'm so not creative but those are good ideas that I wouldn't have thought of otherwise.

Hey we're actually doing white table cloths but alternating runners and covers.(ex:if the cover is fuschia the runner is orange and vice versa)I got the idea from a family friend she's a wedding planner and she said it's a very popular idea.

I like Cabell'd idea. Or alternate the colors and choose one color for the runner.

Oh, that could TOTALLY work. I've seen it on a couple of David Tutera's weddings. Personally, I'll be alternating tablecloth colors between burnt orange and chocolate. Plus, I think with the POP of color, it completely livens up the room... and you can spend a little less on centerpieces (shhhhh)
