Different dress for reception?

So, I’ve recently discovered that a lot of brides change out of their wedding gowns for the reception. To be honest, I’m kind of panicking because I really don’t want to go through buying another dress and I love mine so much that I’d like to wear it as long as possible! Is it uncommon for someone...

Is it uncommon for someone to NOT change their dress?

I'm not changing into another dress, I will wear mine all night. Wedding dresses are expensive I'm going to get my moneys worth. You do you boo.

I did not change for my reception. I loved my wedding gown so much I did not want to take it off! Changing into a new dress has become a new trend and is actually not that common.

I Have A Reception Dress To Change Into After Our First Dance & Dinner. It All Depends On Your Preference.

One of my cousins changed her dress in the middle of the reception for their first dance because they had choreographed something complicated and she couldn’t move as easily in her first dress. After it was finished, she changed back into her ball gown. I think it’s all personal preference! We had a small ceremony and reception and will have a larger reception at a later time, so I had 2 dresses (one for each) but I wore the one and plan to wear the other for the entire night, including us going out afterwards!

Most people I know wore the same dress for everything! I feel like it's actually COMMON to just keep the same dress. Do whatever you feel is best for you on your day ❤️ I think I'm staying in mine for the whole day as well! I paid a lot of money for it, so I want to show it off as much as possible.

I agree that I love my dress that much. I cannot get to wear it.

I'm just wearing my dress all day...I love it. I never want to take it off. I'm trying to figure out how I can wear it to work! I love it SO much, that after the wedding I am altering my wedding dress into a cocktail dress and dyeing it a different color so I can continue to wear it long after my wedding!

Honestly, they're BOTH common. Depending on where you live, your traditions, and your family/friend circle, it may be common to change into a second dress or equally common to wear one dress all night.

All that matters is what YOU want to do. It sounds like you love your dress and would be stressed to search for another one. So don't. Select a bustle style you love, tie it up, and hit the dance floor!
