Different types of ceremonies?

Nancy, on January 29, 2017 at 10:42 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

Hey everyone! We're getting married in vegas and I was asked by our planner of what type of ceremony we would have-- I'm curious of what everyone else is opting to, and why? Sand ceremony, unity candle, etc?

We are skipping the unity portions. I understand the symbolism behind them, but none of them speak to us in such a way that we wanted to include them. If anything, we would do a handfasting ritual, but don't think we will.

We are both outdoorsy people and will be doing a tree planting ceremony with dirt from each of our childhood homes

The planner may have meant religious or non-religious, rather than unity elements.

We had a civil ceremony (aka non-religious). We worked with our officiant to write our entire ceremony by hand, and then we did a spice unity ceremony (think sand, but we poured salt and pepper).
