Difficult time justfying

So I’m struggling with registry stuff. First dilemma is we’re currently house hunting so the plan is to be living in a new house before our wedding in September. The problem is, we don’t know what size or what the house looks like because we haven’t found the right one yet! It’s hard to try to shop for stuff for a house we don’t have yet.

Second dilemma is that we’re not taking a honeymoon right away and we don’t know exactly when we’re going so honeymoon finds or the thing where people get you experiences for your honeymoon seems silly since we don’t know when/where we’re going.

Third dilemma we both are weird about money stuff so I’m struggling with seeing the prices of stuff and feeling weird asking people to spend money on us.

Anyone else struggle with any/all of these problems??

Can you select items in neutral colors and styles that you LOVE regardless of what your future home looks like? Depending on what you need, lots of things like pots & pans and small appliances don't need to match anything, and towels/linens in pure whites and creams are classic and work in any setting (and so practical because you can bleach them if they get stained). Most guides suggest registering for a wide range of items at different price points. Daughter's registry ranged from some $5 wine stoppers to a $350+ Kitchen Aid mixer; with most items in the $25-50 range. You know what the first items purchased were? The Kitchen Aid, her complete set of higher-end stainless flatware, and the full 8-place setting of her good china.... And, yes, she also received spatulas, shower curtain hooks, and napkin rings. Provide choices and people will select what they want. (Most of her registry was purchased by the guests at her 25 guest bridal shower; the majority of wedding guests gave them cash/checks.) In many social groups, if you don't ask for much, most guests will give you money. Good luck!

One great tip I've seen is to register for gifts cards for lowes/home depot/menards that way you can save them and buy things to fix up or put towards home stuff when the time is right.
    Could you do that?

This is what I'm doing. I struggle with the asking ect. Fiance and I don't know if we are going to live where we do long term so we decided on nuetral colors for a lot of stuff or figured we are not the kind of people to care really. Also I really second things like pots and pans, they go in your cabinets so it really doesn't matter what color they are! Things like cast iron, or cutting boards that don't really come in many colors is good too. Silverware that's plain is a good selection. Pyrex and Tupperware. Practical stuff that's a pain in the ass to not have but isn't outlandish expensive is a good middle ground.

Have you thought about where you are going to register?
I know you can register for Amazon gift cards at Amazon.

I get this. All of it. We will be house hunting after we get married so its hard to know what we will need. I am trying to do my registry as things we will need for a house but I also don't want to over do it. We don't know where we are honeymooning yet so that doesn't help and While doing my registry i always look at the price and them an like nope I wouldn't pay that much for that but I have to get out of that mindset because I am not buying these things. I stopped looking at the prices and just hit add to registry lol.

I'd register for things that you know you'll need regardless of the house you buy. So upgrades of things like mixer, blender, food processor, juicer, coffee maker, etc. or whatever you use most. Maybe cast iron pans, a new pot set, a new utensil set, nice serving dishes, coffee mugs, etc. If you have pets, a cute water & food bowl set. Things like nice blankets, nice bath towels, nice sheets. I would avoid decor or furniture pieces because you are right, you never know. If you garden, then gardening tools. If you or your fiance work in your garage a lot, some garage accessories that will fit in any size garage. I'd choose a variety of things under $50 and over $50 so no one is pressured to spend a lot.

It can be difficult! Ask for practical/traditional things. Sheets, towels, cookware, coffee/tea maker, flatware, etc. You probably already know what size your bed is/will be at your new house. Classic white towels go with any bathroom. No one is going to say "oh your cookware looks out of place in this kitchen".
