Dinner for two scam?

Victoria , on January 16, 2018 at 4:54 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 9
I got a call that my name was drawn at the bridal expo I just attended this weekend. It was for a 3 day/2 night stay in the Bahamas (airfare not included) Champaign flutes and wedding bands. I googled and it said something about time shares. Did anyone attend and actually get their “basket” and did anyone attend the vacation?

It’s not technically a scam, but you DO have to attend a presentation to get whatever they’re offering.

I did this once to get a heavily discounted helipoctor tour and I will never do it again. Not worth it. We basically told the company flat out why we were there and they we wouldn’t be purchasing anything. They kept us there for 2.5 hours when they initially said it would only be an hour. FH was so pissed I thought he was going to punch the sales guy at the end.

If it said time share then yes like FutureMrsW said you will have to sit through an hour long boring presentation of them trying to sell you something. So not necessarily a scam, but some people do not want to be bothered with the pressure of trying to buy something.

I had this same call yesterday also. Bit to get the prizes both of us had to watch a cookong show and give feedback on the cookware. The dates they gave us to do this were limited and week days. We couldn't go because of our work schedules.

I did wonder if this was the case. I received 3 calls after going to a wedding fair and all three were from people or companies who sell products, like the cookware, home spa parties and Mary Kay products. I figured it would be in their interests to call everyone who wrote their names down as potential customers.

I got this same exact thing after attending a bridal show this weekend but instead of a phone call I got a text! I feel extremely uncomfortable and it upsets me that going to this bridal show was supposed to be fun and exciting but now it feels like a joke.
