That sounds good! It sounds filling and like enough options. Our guests will sit to a plated salad, then on the buffet will be bison roasted sirloin & bruschetta chicken, with garlic mashed potatoes & roasted brussell sprouts. Bread will be on the table as well! For dessert we will have a small cutting cake then 4 kinds of cupcakes and some cookies and brownies. We are still deciding on our appetizers & midnight snack.

    Yummm. Here's our menu.

Cocktail hour: pulled pork sliders, assorted cheeses and buffalo chicken dip with tortilla chips.

Dinner: caprese salad, wedge salad, 4 cheese mac&cheese, BBQ mac&cheese, baked potatoes with all the toppings, beef brisket, and pork loin. Buffet style.

Dessert: a small cake to cut and assorted cider donuts.

    Sounds delish!

You've also made me realize that we should be having apple cider donuts at our wedding!

We're having a plated dinner after passed apps at our cocktail hour. Harvest salad with dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, parmesan, with a white balsamic and shallot vinaigrette, then either grilled airline chicken breast with onion chicken gravy over mashed potatoes, or hardwood grilled porkchops and bourbon applesauce with probably parmesan risotto. Plus seasonal veggies with both.

We were just planning on having a cake, but now I'm wondering if we should massively downsize our cake to just a cutting cake and get cider donuts! We went apple picking on our first trip together and plan on putting handpicked apples in our welcome baskets...

    That sounds great!

For us we are having cocktail hour with chips, salsa, fruits, and veggies and passed hors d'oeuvres. For passed hors d'oeuvres we are having, beef on skewers, fried mac and cheese balls, ravioli, meatballs, and bacon wrapped tater tots.

For the actual dinner we are starting with a Caesar salad then having 3 buffet stations of pasta with either traditional or Alfredo sauce, bbq chicken, or flank steak. There are also sides of either carrots or potatoes.

Then we are having cupcakes for dessert along with coffee or tea. We are also having a 5 hour open bar!

Ours was a lunch, but we chose to have a dinner menu. First course was New England clam chowder. Second was Caesar salad. The entrée was a choice of crab cake, grilled salmon, filet mignon, or lobster, served with rice pilaf and seasonal vegetable. Dessert was triple chocolate layer cake. (We didn't have a traditional wedding cake until our at-home reception, three days later.) We had bottles of wine on the table, and also hosted any drinks our guests chose to order.

My wedding is a lower budget affair but we wanted something different from the standard fair. We're not doing a cocktail hours but will have a limited bar with our "signature drinks" only.

    Champagne toast

For dinner we hired BD's Mongolian Grill to provide a salad bar and bring their portable grill. Guests will fill a bowl with the ingredients of their choice and the grill masters will cook it to order while entertaining quests with their swords. Guests can create any dish they want from fajittas, pasta, or fried rice.

For dessert we will be having tea, coffee, and a Pittsburgh style cookie table.

We went with buffet style because my cousin had the caterer at her wedding and he only does buffets. His food was so good I decided to skip the plated dinner I originally wanted in order to have him.

It's butter chicken, quorma, naan bread, beef, rice, veggies, foods of the like
