Whether you want to have children! This seems to be a make or break issue with most people.

Finances and general life goals were topics that my husband and I discussed thoroughly before we got married. Whether to have kids and where each person wants to live (big city, small town, a specific state, etc) are also good topics to discuss. If one person is determined to live in a big city and the other person has their heart set on living near family in their small hometown, that might be a deal breaker.

Since we are older, the "kids" discussion wasn't necessary 😆 But, the Financial discussion was very important!

I highly recommend pre-marriage counseling! We are going through it now and reading a book together for our course. We recently took a test that shed some light on the areas we haven't talked and areas we had. It covered religions, raising children, finances, screen time/ social media use, money, roles at home and extended family (including handling inlaws). Very enlightening!

Wonderful! Yeah, again because we are older some of those items wouldn't be an issue, but I think all young couples need a very clear understanding of "handling in-laws"! Thanks for sharing.
