Deciding on Wedding Shoes

Mrs._S, on May 29, 2017 at 10:42 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 13

Hey WW people. I hope Memorial Day weekend has been good. I'm currently at work, because the internet doesn't get a holiday but I've been looking at other posts about wedding shoes and I wanted to reach out for some advice.

I don't know what kind of shoes would go with my dress. I'm horrible at accessorizing on the daily. I want something comfy so though sexy heels are a dream they will make the big day a nightmare. My back will be done for. I wouldn't be opposed to wedges but I can't wear flats because they don't have any support. I have basically flat feet (weak arches) so a slight lift would be fine. Maybe 2inches max.

I'm attaching a photo of my gown ( it is being altered to have detachable lace sleeves, slightly off shoulder that reach my wrists) There are no jewels, no sparkles, no bling. Just lace. I'm more simplistic. I'm not sure what shoes to wear. I mean my wedding colors are pink and navy. I'd want the shoes to be affordable, vintage cute and comfy. Any suggestions?

@Caroline. I'm not sure I want the shoes to be pink or navy. Wouldn't that bring attention to my feet? I mean all eyes on me anyway but again I'm horrible at accessorizing normally. Kate Spade definitely has cute stuff.

@LibbyLane - I own those shoes and would not recommend them. I have similar foot problems as the OP bride described and they're super uncomfortable Smiley sad

Oh that is just depressing. I was considering getting those shoes myself. Maybe I won't have as much of an issue with my high arches? Crossing my fingers from now until I like another shoe more...

Soon_2b_Stabile - Yup, bane of my existence! I second Jessica Simpson and Steve Madden for typically having comfortable wedges, though they're usually at least 3 inches (platform helps though).

These are the shoes I got. I originally wanted the flats version for the reception since I already had ceremony shoes but the more I tried to break in my ceremony shoes the more I realized they just weren't comfortable. So instead of the flats for the reception I just got the short heel for the whole day.

Try the following brands: aerosoles, Clarks, naturalizer. They have cute yet comfortable options. My feet are terrible too.

Or what about a small block heel, so you have more support?
