Disney for Honeymoon

Hello, ladies and gents. FH and I are considering going to Disney for our honeymoon. Has anyone ever been with their significant others, was it less romantic because of the many children? Also, any tips on keeping the cost low? We have been advised to not stay in any hotels inside the park.

Yes!!! Disneyland! That's where I want to go! I think the romance part is up to how much you and your FH will enjoy the experience. If you both love disney, and rides, I think it'll be great and the romance will come naturally! My FH and I are talking first Disneyland then Hawaii. So for me it's fun and rides and then relaxation and the whole Hawaii experience Smiley smile If I only had to choose one...it'd be Disneyland...I'm so excited to wear the bride ears!!! As for costs, I have to do more research too :/ sorry I can't be of more help in that area. Good luck!

We are going to Disney for our Honeymoon in 2 months time Smiley smile we have been before together and made it romantic.

We are staying for 5 nights at a Universal hotel for fun, 7 days at the Disney Beach club resort for fun and nice hotel. Then 10 nights in a 4 bed villa (for the larger pool) for relaxation Smiley smile

My FH and met working at Disney (land), so Disney is pretty special to us. In all the years we worked there together, we never went to WDW. We decided that we would go for there as a little detour before our honeymoon cruise.

As far as romance, Disney is whatever you make of it. Isn't spending time together the whole point of a honeymoon?

My FH and I are staying off site. We're only going for two days before we drive down to Ft Lauderdale, so it wasn't worth it to us to stay at the Resort. But, if you're spending a considerable amount of time there, it would probably be best to stay on property.

We will be going to disney & universal the days before & after the wedding. We will stay on property because the hotel provides transportation to all parks, free parking, and free breakfast. I work for the hotel chain but normal prices weren't too terrible for those money saving benefits.

I went to disney sea in tokyo alone with babe but it was still romantic and fun for us. For a week day..during school hours I was surprised sooo many kids were there

My FH and I have been Disney pass holders (live in Florida) so we go all the time and we always celebrate birthdays and anniversaries there. It's always as romantic as you make it, despite the kids and crowds. Absolutely stay within the parks!!! One of my personal favorites for a romantic and not super expensive option is Port Orleans French Quarter. Definitely less children then say the All star resorts. Some amazing, romantic food choices are California Grill (penthouse at the Contemporary Resort with amazing views of Magic Kingdom and firework show), San Angel Inn in Mexico pavilion in Epcot, Be Our Guest in Magic Kingdom, and the underwater restaurant in Epcot, forgot the name! Ways to keep cost low... hmm. Definitely wear your pin and let everyone know it's your honeymoon! Each server and Disney employee may or may not do something special for you, but we have gotten free desserts and upgraded room. No guarantees of course. Also, if you drink you may want to bring some booze to your room and "pregame" before heading to a park, drinks can get super expensive! Also, take the buses everywhere. You don't have to worry about directions and they take you right to the gates. Have fun!!!

My FH and I are both Disney Vacation Club members and have been to Disney World together 3 times, actually where we got engaged last September!

We always stay in a park hotel b/c we have timeshare points, but Disney has buses to get you to all the parks and Disney Springs for free. I would certainly not say that it is any less romantic or less like a honeymoon! We both love Disney and have an amazing time every time we go.

I saw your wedding is in August which is a busier time for Disney. I recommend going online and looking for Disney peak times in terms of visitors. Summer and school vacations are always busier. We usually go the 1st week of September after Labor Day and have much less crowds because kids are back in school!

I also have to tell you and everyone else on this post our all time favorite restaurant the Rose and Crown Pub in England at EPCOT. The restaurant has a great view of the fireworks at 9pm and if you make a reservation before 8pm the hostess usually will give you a perfect waterfront table to the fireworks if you askSmiley smile

    Hope you have fun!

Oh my gosh! Great idea!! My FH and I have been to Disney together and we had a BLAST. I totally recommend staying on site. The pros far outweigh the cons. Stay at a moderate, easy to save costs there. We ended up grazing on food most of the day, I never do the Dining Plan when I go, feels like you're chasing food all day. Stay for Extra Magic Hours (if staying on property), ride a zillion rides, go out for out of the ordinary food- HAVE A BLAST! We also surprised each other with in room deliveries of gifts which was awesome. And definitely get a honeymoon pin to wear!

My FH and I are going to Disneyland for our honeymoon this October. I think it's a great place for a honeymoon if you are a fan of Disney and like to have fun!!! It can definitely be romantic. I think it's really how you spend your time together. We went there for our one year anniversary and my favorite part was watching the World of Color show all snuggled up.

We are doing a Disneymoon and I am ecstatic. It can feel not romantic if you plan on being on the go the whole time. We are staying 7 days and plan to have our sleep in days where we stay at the resort the first part of the day and order in room service then go to the park later for dinner. Plenty of pool time, etc. I am excited to see my FH escape and feel free to let the inner child out. Plus staying in a Disney resort, they go above and beyond to make it special and take care of you.

I will say, after booking the package and researching other things, it will not be a cheap trip by any means. The price tag for this trip is already blowing our previous Hawaii trips price tag out of the water.
