Disney wedding songs!

Ami, on February 4, 2016 at 2:03 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10

So, FH and I are having a bit of a Disney theme to our wedding. Mostly through music and some subtle decorations. Lately I've had music on my mind.

Our First Dance song is "I See the Light" -From Tangled. I'll be walking down the aisle to "Coronation Day" - From Frozen. Our recessional song will be "Whole New World" - From Aladdin. But then I get stuck on the processional and mother/son and father(brother in my case)/daughter song. FH was thinking maybe something instrumental for the processional but we can't decide on one.

What do you guys think?

Don't over do it. What you already have is fine. Just pick something that represents your mother and fathers.

I would go definitely with something instrumental and subtle Disney for the rest of the songs. I'm a huge Disney fan, but you don't want to shove the them down everyone's throat. It is a wedding and not a child's birthday party (very blunt I know).

We got married at a castle and Beauty and the Beast is one of my faves so we had the bridal party (processional) walk in to "Tale as old as time". It was just instrumental so not a lot of people noticed but I had a few come up to me and laugh at the irony. That's what we were going for.

But I wouldn't over do it. Or if you do them for the ceremony maybe do instrumental only. It makes it more subtle and a lot of people will recognize it but not realize what it is and think its corny.

My bridesmaids are walking down to an instrumental of Can You Feel The Love Tonight! I think with 3 Disney songs, that might be enough for the ceremony itself. You can always throw in more Disney at the reception. We're going to play Be Our Guest to open up cocktail hour!

I don't think we're over doing it. The only non instrumental for the ceremony would be Whole New World. But in general, everyone going to the wedding is pretty young and laid back and there will be a lot of kids. The wedding is even taking place at a zoo with a carousel. Mainly we want our wedding to be fun and us. We aren't serious people. We also want the kids to feel comfortable, which includes FH's son. I'm not worried that anyone would be bothered by "too much" Disney.

For parents songs i feel like these could work:

    Baby mine from Dumbo.

Up theme song is a great instrumental one.
