Disney World Engagement Photos HELP!!

Chasity, on August 7, 2015 at 3:05 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 18

Hi Guys! My FH and I will be at Disneyworld (for the first time) to celebrate my birthday in October. I had DREAMS of getting married at Disney, but my mother shot that down really quickly. Now I was making plans to do our engagement session there and I am looking for referrals of outside photographers. I've checked with the Disney Fine Arts, the price is reasonable, but they aren't able to take them in the Magic Kingdom, which is ideal. ALSO, I just read some scary reviews about the Disney portraits.

I can't help too much, but I follow Bibbidi Bobbidi Bride on instagram. They have featured vendors or you could look at the engagement pictures they post to find someone

Be careful because Disney is very particular about "professional" photo shoots by "outside" photographers. To be honest, I would just have the Disney photo pass photographers take your pictures. You can either purchase the Memory Maker package (which will give you every photo taken) or you could just purchase pictures you like (last time I checked they were $14.95 per picture). The photo pass photographers will also take your picture with your camera in case you don't want to have to spend more on pictures. You will still get great pictures and won't have to spend a lot of money.

I have seen plenty of people in there wit professional looking cameras! We live an hour away so we go a lot... I'm not sure if there are any "rules" for bringing professional equiptment into the parks, but I have definitely seen them! Especially in Magic Kingdom! Maybe look for a photographer local to Orlando and then pay for their park admission?

They don't care about pro photos @theresa. They only care about videoing.

Ugh. Its loading weird. But they don't really care about pro photos because they can't prove anything. A LOT of people bring in pro cameras. They do really care about filming.

I have a friend who is a former cast member in the weddings department. I just shot her a message and will come back to this thread as soon as she replies.

When are you going? I will ALSO be there in October for my 30th bday on 10/25

Thank you! I will be there from October 11th-18th. My birthday is the 14th. :-) @Stephanie. Thank you for sharing your pictures are amazing! @lolsenn. @Theresa, we plan on purchasing the photo pass package. I'm just looking for photos that are nicely posed and nice enough for our Save the Dates and to be framed etc...

Thank you everyone for responding. I prefer to do things by word of mouth, but I live in Texas so I didn't have anyone to reach out to!

Oh and Professional photogs ARE allowed as long as they don't disrupt anything or bring in bulky equipment.

Wasn't there a feature film secretly shot at Disney without the appropriate permits? I think Disney never filed a law suit b/c they didn't want to increase the film's publicity.

Yea she fails on the blog but she has a youtube channel which she posts more often.

    This is ours: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjP8xboCmB0

Shes really great and her assistant is too, she also has a small company, her FB is https://www.facebook.com/floridagirl0304?fref=pb&hc_location=profile_browser

The assistant might be a little cheaper, depending on your budget.

@barbara yes there was. Ive heard its horrible and the film company paid Disney under the table so that the film could still be on the market. But now disney is even more strict about video cameras and will pretty much only let you bring in cameras.
