Displaying the Wedding and Groom's Cake - What Did You Do?

mrsaj2b, on September 4, 2017 at 7:14 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

For those who had or will be having both a wedding cake and a grooms cake at the wedding how did (will) you display the cakes? Both on one table or separate tables?

If you have pics I'd love to see them. Thanks.

@Kate - Yeah I know. I need to give a linen count for my event decor vendor and just wondered what the norm was for displaying both cakes. They asked.

We had the groom's cake at the rehearsal dinner because we just didn't need that much freaking cake at the reception haha (our wedding cake alone was 4 tiers). I guess this comment really isn't helpful, so I apologize. IMO it's just your personal preference.

ETA - here's a picture of our groom's cake and wedding cake. I personally think they would have looked weird together on the same table.

No "groom's cake" (because the big white cake is his cake!) but we're having a dessert table for everything sweet.

If it matters to you then it matters.

I've typically seen them on the same table, but I've also seen the groom's cake on a separate smaller table next to the main wedding cake table.

We're not having a groom's cake, so I don't have any personal experience to share Smiley sad

The groom's cake will be next to the bar, which is across the room from our wedding cake. His cake looks like a large mug of beer so near the bar is best

Our cupcake tower will be on a table and the groom's cake will be on a wine barrel next to it.
