Disposable cameras

Lee Ann, on July 25, 2019 at 4:52 PM Posted in Planning 0 21
Alright ladies, I’ve had the idea to get disposable cameras for our guests to take pictures at the wedding. We are looking to buy some in bulk but nowhere close to us sells them like this. Does anyone know of a reliable website to order wedding disposable cameras from that aren’t crazy expensive?

The cost of developing film is so high, I would take that into consideration over the cost of the cameras. While I really like the nostalgia of this idea, I would be worried that you'd spend $100+ on cameras and developing just to come out with a bunch of pictures that you can't use for anything.

Agree with Caytlyn. Plus - most weddings I've been to that have this people use it to take stupid silly photos that you won't want anyway. Most people will probably take pics on their phones and tag you in them, this is when a hashtag could come in handy.

Fine to do it, but may be more trouble than it's worth.

We aren’t into the whole hashtag thing. Im not concerned about silly photos because that’s what we expect people to do. We will have a photographer for serious photos.

I wouldn't waste your money with these. These were popular back in the day when people didn't have excellent quality cameras on their phones but now everyone does. It cost so much to develop these and the quality is usually so poor - if people actually even use them. I didn't do a hashtag either but had no problem with my guests sending me pics they took from their phones.

It would honestly be cheaper to buy a couple of those InstaX polaroid cameras, because you don't have to pay for development.

Another idea? See how many of your friends have older digital cameras lying around. This way, the guests could see the pictures too, and then you can take the memory cards and only print the photos you want.

Have you tried the knot shop? I’ve seen them on there, but don’t know their prices

Why spend money (and it could be a considerable amount) to do something you can do for free and get better results, given that almost everyone has a phone with a decent camera these days? You don’t have to use a hashtag - there are various apps (WedPix is one that comes to mind), or use Google Photos and send everyone the link so they can upload their photos, or a private Facebook album you can add people to so they can share the photos there - lots of free options available.

Have you used them yet? I tried to look for them earlier on the Walmart’s page that’s close to me and they only sell in 2 packs. This is definitely something we want to do. I know quality won’t be as good as a cell phone or more expensive camera, but this is what we want at our wedding. It’s like bringing the “old days” back for a day. As much as everyone uses their phones, it’s going to be like the days without all the technology.

Create a hashtag so your guests can posts photos they take and they’re all in one spot.

We don’t want to do a hashtag. We are looking to do something outside of it being all on cell phones.

I haven’t used them yet my wedding isn’t until March. I got the fugi brand and they sold 20 for 199 but they are sold out. I did find these on Walmart that is a ten pack. We are also having a photo booth but I always loved the candid pictures these capture.

The issue with the disposable cameras are that people sometimes take them or take inappropriate pics that cant be developed. Or
Bc of the lack of quality pics come out bad so be careful theres a reason they dont sell them anymore..there are cameras at walmart that have an instant develope for like 60 bucks and all you have to do is get more film for it to print out they come in light blue pink white etc

It's an app (or a website link if they dont want to do the app) that your guest can download and add their photos of your wedding and reception.. So that way you can get the photos they capture as well. I read about it and figure it's worth a try.

Ok! It was an idea. I don’t even know where I’d get film developed here at home. Lol! Good luck! My cousin had a completely unplugged wedding and had her photographers take care of getting photos.
