diy aisle runner for gravel?

I'm having an outdoor ceremony and the location is mainly dirt and gravel since it's August. I really want to have a white aisle runner so give it a romantic look but I don't knk a what type of fabric so that it isn't a tripping hazard. Any ideas on what durabme white fabric I can use?

    When I asked my planner about an aisle runner for my outdoor ceremony, she recommended against it, because it was a slip/fall hazard. So, no real advice on fabric, just a caveat - sorry.

    I'd be really nervous about heels and fabric - if you're all wearing flats it could be ok, but you might still need to keep guests off of it. I'm in a similar situation - I'll be walking over grass and dirt mostly, and I have no idea what to do to make it look prettier and/or be less messy. I've seen people do really pretty things with a lot of flower petals or leaves, so that could be an option.

    Does your ceremony location have a coordinator you could speak with and get their advice? Perhaps there is no coordinator but the owner you’re dealing with directly. They may have advice from other weddings they’ve seen!

    How about using rugs?? I've seen a lot of ppl using rugs as aisle runners.
