DIY Baby's Breath centerpieces and decor, need help!

on August 3, 2013 at 7:02 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 11

I am going with Baby's Breath for my flowers in my country wedding to cut down on costs. However, to my crazy surprise I am looking at $1000 for what I would "need" to do the job. I have been told to go with 2 bunches of Baby's Breath per mason jar. Has anyone done Baby's Breath in mason jars and only used 1 bunch? Also, how many bunches would be smart for bridesmaid bouquets using Baby's Breath?

Are you only using baby's breath for your bouquet? I am having a country wedding and thinking of using sunflowers, wheat, and baby's breath. We were thinking of doing the mason jars w/ baby breath at the end of the aisles.

Are you buying them wholesale from a website?

These are the mock ups for some of my decor. I will need 10 bunches for 12 of fishbowls and 18 of the hurricane vases.

Our venue also has massive urns. Our florist said it would be $150 for foliage, $250 for flowers and $300 for babys breath. She explained that she would need so much babys breath and flowers would actually be cheaper.

Yes, I am only using Baby's Breath. I think I have found a website that has reduced the price for me by quite a bit! Smiley smile

If you want to save money on flowers I would check with a local direct florist (one that buys direct from the growers) I was able to get daisies and mums for my daughters wedding cheaper than the baby's breath that I am using in a couple of arrangements. Roses would have been even cheaper but she doesn't like the look of the roses. the bouquets are just daisy stems wrapped in ribbon so they are really cheap to make. Good luck!

I am doing mason jars as well and I'm actually going to pick my own flowers at a flower place the day before.

They are charging me ten dollars for each huge can.

That's a great deal. I hope I can pull this off. I'm a bit nervous.

Maybe do half baby's breath jars and half with candles. You can get a 21 pack for 7.00 at a place online (PM me and I'll give you the site, don't want to get in trouble, lol). So, that way you can get bigger bunches on the baby's breath.

Baby's breath is inexpensive - do a mock-up and see what you think.

HIS ballerina, did you mean you know someone who has a 21 pack of babys breath or mason jars for $7.00? Either way is there any way I could contact that person? I am planning my country themed wedding on a verrrryy tight budget and that would be a life saver! Thank you Smiley smile
