My FH and I have been trying to figure out the best way to go with our bar. Since we're on a tight budget but still want an open bar, we have looked into buying our own liquor/beer/wine, then finding someone to bartend instead of going through a catering company. We don't plan on having many more than 100 people, if that. Plus, Sam's Club will let you return any unopened alcohol, so I think it would be cheaper. Has anyone does this or have advice about it? Thanks! 😊

My biggest advice, which is already said in a few comments, is to make sure your venue allows this; and if they do, if they require liability insurance, or an licensed/insured bartender.

They do allow this and we have talked to the owner about it already, just wanting people's opinion on how it went if they have done this at their wedding or planning on doing it.
