SO! I went to Target yesterday and decided to buy things for my bathroom baskets. Now I'm debating on returning everything before I buy things to finish it off. I spent about $20 on small dollar items (hairspray, tums, Advil, hand sanitizer, lint roller) I know I have things t home to put in them...

Who's making or made bathroom baskets? Is / was it worth it??

Hmm. I don't think I'll do them for my guests but it gave me the idea to put some in the bathroom in our hall. I'll put some paper cups with a bottle of scope, and some good moisturizer. That will only be a one bathroom price of $20. Smiley smile great thinking.

We did one for the ladies' room. I just grabbed some very basic things at Target and a cheap basket from the Dollar Store and there you go. Totally not necessary, but it's one random thing that I did remember to do.

    Ladies basket:

    tampons

    mints

    andes chocolate mints

    colgate wisps

    bandaids

    hand lotion

    And I think that's it.

Im not doing one cause we're doing an at-home wedding... so if someone reallllllyyyyy needed thread, we'd have it. lol. Also, i plan onhaving some dinner mints out, so if people feel extray stinky, they can eat some of those! lol.. Its such an awesome gesture, when you're out to have that stuff, but its NOT a neccessity.

I didn't do any for our wedding. The guests' rooms were feet or a floor away.

Have you checked out Five Below or Bed Bath & Beyond?

I am doing one for the men's room and one for the lady's room. I started buying things right after our wedding. This way the damage wasn't so bad. I included the following things in the lady's room.

    Ladies

    -Spray Deo

    - 3 dif B & B Works sprays(on sale)

    -Hand lotion & sanitizer

    -hair spray, gel, mousse

    -Pads & Tampons

-Wrapped floss picks, breath mints, gum

    - Sew kit, DS tape, Shout Wipes, Safety Pins, Static Guard, Wrinkle Release, Lint Roller

Crazy Glue, Clear Nail Polish, Emery Boards

    - Tylenol, Advil, Tums, Immodium

-Q Tips, Oil Blotters, Almay MU Remover Tips

    Mens

    - Pretty much everything as ladies with a few obvious exceptions

    - 3 Dif Axe Sprays

    - Dress shoe laces

    - Shoe shine kit

    - Matches

I also bought cheap candles and spruced them up a bit.

    Hey Mar,

The basket is the most expensive part of the whole ensemble - so skip the basket and use a pretty silver tray from the dollar tree like I did. For the smaller items that I had around the house like bobby pins, earring backs & safteypins I just used votive candle holders.

    Edit to add:

The stuff doesn't have to be name brand either. Ibuprofin is Ibuprofin to me I could care less if it says Advil on the bottle.

Also, I split some things up - like bandaids. I don't have full boxes of them in each bathroom - I split a box of them up between the two and put them in the votive holders. Same with Toothpicks & Flossers.

My wedding is not for another year but we keep buying stuff for the baskets when they come on sale. For example; Old Navy is having their $1 sandal event on Saturday. We will go and buy all the 'dancing' shoes for our baskets then. Of course we cannot get everything a year in advance but will probably just hop over to the dollar store for the toiletries when the time comes.

Go to the dollar stores, the $1's ad up, but that may not be so bad. People will comment about them, but they are not necessary, they are a nice touch though.
