DIY Bouquet Cuff--is this possible?

Rae, on October 2, 2011 at 8:54 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 11

I basically bought out Dollar General of all of their white flowers. 2 different Dollar General stores, in fact. Thanks for such a great tip everyone!

I feel pretty confident that I can make some really beautiful bouquets!

My new question is: I really want to make a rhinestone bouquet cuff, but have no clue how to go about it. I don't like the DIY fake flower bouquets when the handle is really thin. I want a thicker handle and I'd really love something like this, but there is no way I can justify paying $60, $70, $100 on it. Where should I start? Has anyone done this?

I think you could actually achieve this look with a paper towel roll,or with a piece of plastic pipe, believe it or not. lol You could cover the paper towel roll or piping with a coordinating fabric color and then apply the rhinestones. You can also google rhinestone mesh and you will find the type of rhinestone coverage you are looking for.

Here's an example website that you may find useful:

You would need to go to a fabric store and see if you could find something like this...

just wrap around the stems.. FYI - it is not comfortable to hold when they are wrapped like this, it kinda digs into your hand. tram n. had a decorated bouquet.

I know it is not as fancy, but maybe some sequence fabric??? It won't poke your hands. check the price at Joann fabric or Hancock Fabrics.

Michaels has a rhinestone bouquet cuff in their wedding section. I was there recently and saw it.

Also, if you leave the stems long then fold them up instead of cutting it off (if that makes any sense) then it will make the stalk thicker.
