diy bouquet help needed!!

Lauren, on July 9, 2019 at 6:51 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 11
So I was going to try to find a cheap florist such as Stop and Shop. But I already had $40 worth of flowers I bought, didn't love on their own, but forgot to return in the acceptable time frame. Those had sat in my closet until after doing some wedding stuff this weekend, I got inspired and bought a few more to see if I could make it work. I'm LOVING how they are coming along (still waiting for a few flowers I ordered for my bouquet to come in) but I can't figure out how to wrap the stems!! I have a thick sparkly ribbon but don't know how to make it look well wrapped. Any pointers? TIA!

I’m not to sure about wrapping - but those look beautiful! Where did you get them from?

Thank you!! The roses I got last summer from Michaels, the dahlias recently from Walmart, and idk what the big purple flower is called but recently from Joanns! In total I've spent only about $90!

The green steams should be cut so they don’t stick out. Do you have pins? They will be used to Secure the ribbon.

Thanks! Are there special pins or like safety pins?

Not safety pins but the straight pins.

I used hot glue on mine and bought a small pack of small half pearls and hot glued them down the center so it looked like it was pinned

Another option to consider is bouquet grass. That's what I used for my sola wood bouquets. It makes the flowers look more realistic and then I'm just doing one simple ribbon wrap. If you want the entire handle in ribbon, there are a lot of bouquet handle wrapping technique videos on Youtube I would check out. Good luck, they look great!
