diy Bouquets, Roses?

CourtneyBrittain, on July 12, 2019 at 7:25 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 20

Anyone have photos of their DIY Bouquets? How many stems did you use in yours?

Bonus points if they're roses! I have looked on google and Pinterest but idk how much I can trust the Internet...

What type of bouquet are you looking for? Normal cascading? I did not make mine but here is a picture of the silk cascading bouquet I had made for me with roses. I figured It might help with flower count as it is an actual bouquet 😃

Thank you! My follow up question would be is there any other flower you are incorporating or just roses?

I haven’t ordered anything yet (Trader Joe’s asked me to order two weeks away) but I’ll go in person soon to see. Roses will be featured, maybe some baby’s breath and greenery

Okay, I would keep in mind roses tend to be smaller and due to that it takes more to fill a bouquet. Having a filler flower might take away from the expense of needing tons of roses. If it is a small bouquet it won’t take as many but a large rose based bouquet can have up to 30-40 roses in it. The most I ever used was 32 one time. Greenery only does so much as a filler. (I took several floral classes in high school and college and they had us do a bunch of bouquet work) however, a small bouquet can be made to look just as elegant as a larger bouquet. I guess it depends on what you want. I thought about going with a florist (I dont Need the stress of making my own lol) they wanted me to use carnations as a filler flower in case you needed ideas for that. I wanted Dahlias and they do not frown in December so I had To go the silk flowers route.

This was just something we played around with a few months ago with flowers we got at Trader Joe’s.

I’m getting simple rose bouquets. This is the inspiration photo I sent to my florist.

My bridal bouquet will have 2 dozen roses.
The maid of honor will have 1 dozen and the bridesmaids will have 8 roses.

Here’s a picture of my DIY bouquets. I am not crazy about them but they are ok and a lot better than spending $320 on real roses that might last a day....

This is mine. I finished making it yesterday. Roses are from Lings Monents. I ordered a box of 16 avalanche roses. They have a 4” head. I used 9 in this bouquet, and 5 stems if babies breath. (Leaves for roses are sold separately). So far, I’ve only spent $50 on flowers for my wedding party!

I am still working on the actual bouquets, but these are the boutonnieres we made first. Bouquets will match with similar flowers too! Succulents are a huge part of our wedding, and we’ll have mini succulents as wedding favors. Super fun and easy to do. Hobby Lobby is my second home 😇
